injector question?

Featured Replies

Under the back seat. Lift carpet, if you have any. Should be a circular panel in the floor under where the seat base was. Has 3 bolts/screws iirc. Pump is under there.

Sounds like fun - a good tip to depressurise the system before mucking about with the pump is to run the engine and remove the fuel pump fuse, then wait til it stops. Try and start a couple more times and you should have a nicely depressurised fuel pipe. Fuse is the 3rd one up from the bottom on the front row in the fuse panel IIRC - check with your handbook bearing in mind the diagram is a mirror image of the actual layout.

cheers nick!:cool:

Indeed.

Tools required - screwdriver' date=' 5mm allen key, crowbar or rock (optional)

Time required - 3 minutes (may be longer if crowbar used)

Procedure:

If bonnet closed, try driver's door. If unlocked, open and pop bonnet. If locked, lob rock through window first

Open bonnet, prop open.

Remove engine cover (4 plastic turnbuttons)

Remove two allen screws holding down fuel rail.

If feeling prissy, disconnect 3 multiplugs connecting injector wiring to engine.

Disconnect connectors from injectors.

Lift out fuel rail complete with injectors.

Remove injectors from fuel rail by detaching spring clips and pulling.

Make a sharp exit, stage left...[/quote']

seems like a resonable idea? reckon they could source an RS4 fuel pump at the same time.

....so thats (350 x 5.6)/4 => 1960/4 = 490cc...
...so thats (400 x 5.6)/4 => 2240/4 = 560cc..

Any advance on 400bhp or are we going to stick at that? :wavey:

Embarrassed to show my ignorance but:

Skunk ...?

weed, grass, ganja, stuff you get from Amsterdam.....

Oh right. Can you tell I've never been near the stuff in my life :D

Likewise, I do however have an 18 year old stepson :(

Very interesting indeed...........

........Paul recommended the RS4 fuel pump and 4 BAR fpr for the apparent reduction is "go" when at half tank or below.

I think that the combination of the pump and FPR may be too much for the standard injectors (???) and would need some kind of remapping. Don't know much about anything so this may be all wrong. ;)

Obi Wan French suggested that an S4 fuel pump would be enough to cure the half tank syndrom.

Will have a chat with Michael on Saturday.......and no calling for gearboxes this time please. ;):D

So does that mean that your bonnet release will be serviceable on 24th April, Paul, and will JF's have been fixed by then too? :rolleyes:

You rang, milord?

Nah, mine is being welded shut for aerodynamic reasons :D

I have of course, having been 18 and living in Amsterdam, but it did nothing for me. I remember sitting there waiting for something to happen.

Was probably living in an altered state of mind all of the time already. :D
