Local motor show pics

Featured Replies

I went to our local yearly motor show today particularly to have a look at the new Fabia and the new TT. I didn't expect to see the Octavia Scout there so couldn't resist taking some pics. Mr P dived inside after being very impressed with it's looks from the outside :D We were both thinking the same thing that it looks a bit like a BMW with it's chunkyness and the curve down at the back from the roof. Anyway, it's looks good in the flesh

I had to walk away from the A3 in the end

Apologies for the bad photography but I used my mobile and was very aware of how much of a geek I was looking, so was taking them rather quickly :o

Either you have a very bad exposure on your phone/camera or is that a really shocking shade of pink on that Audi? :P

It's normal VAG red taken in bright sunshine with my mobile :o

I'll take the A3, Mr P can have the Scout

I do like the look of the Scout.

Nice pics! I like the A3 , I'd have the 3 door over the 5 door 'estate'. The Octavia Scout does look good as well though , it reminds me of an Audi Allroad! Do I spy a vRS SE Fabia in the background too? Also the new Fabia look quite good from the side.

I see you've suffered with the flooding too. That 4x4 has literally just sunk into the ground.

Good pics.

Good pics

And the Fabia looks quite good - ain't seen one 'in the flesh' only piccies and was not too impressed but the one you show looks OK.

I find that a 'side profile' pic of the new Fabia is its best angle , its where the design 'works' best for me , its the front view that still puts me off a bit.

Why is there straw all over the floor? Were they showing off the latest range of hosses as well?

Peasants....

A nice selection of VAG cars there :)

Those Octavia Scout alloys look a little too easy to kerb IMO.

I'm glad that A3 is not really that colour and that it's just your phone :P it's 2 shades away from a Micra C+C

The ground was a little soft, hence the straw. What's a hoss?

To answer the other question about the fabia SE, I did have a quick look see and the leather interior is gorgeous. From memory it has a double stitch of blue to edge it which in my opinion is just right.

The new basic fabia doesn't do anything for me and this was confirmed by seeing it yesterday. The guy I was talking to said the engine from the current vrs was going to be discontinued next year because it wouldnt pass the new emissions laws and that the 2ltr 140 bhp was being considered.

Skoda do seem to take ages to make up their minds! Engines still being 'considered' at this stage ??, the car will be out soon won't it? (less than a year anyway I think)

I'm loving the idea of burying the Suburban Useless Vehicle. Let's see your 4wd get you out of that then!! :P

And I remember "Bonanza" too! (and The Virginian, Alias Smith and Jones...).

I was there last year. :D

Didn't get to go this year though. Going to the IoW by yourself doesn't seem that fun. :(:D

the ground appears to be so soft that it has sunk into the ground by accident

Never let the facts get in the way of a good joke (well as long as no-one was hurt). :P

It sems like it was a stunt as the ground around it was slightly raised and packed around it quite tightly. It managed the desired effect of everyone going for a look though ;)

Thanks for explaining the Hosses Pitt :D

Had to work all weekend so missed all of this...and was even asked by Mr Winter during the week if I was coming. Did pass loads of cars on their way to the venue from Newport...I'll get there one day

That Octy Scout is awful looking, cheap looking plastic, reminds of cars a few years back on basic models that never had colour coding!!...and I'm not a lover of the A3 in its newest form

I guess I must be easily pleased then :D

Oh, for a wife like you :D

Mr P would probably disagree with that after I dragged him round West Quay (shopping) today after his two hours of sleep last night :D

Although I made it up to him by driving him around the New Forest pointing out ponies with their foals whilst he was trying to sleep in the car
