Sold the Superb

Featured Replies

And replaced it with a RS Octy :D

It's so much quieter and smoother than the Superb. Everything feels tight and more to hand.

2001 with 11000 miles-and 3 g's cheaper than the 528i that i looked at.

Good man, now point it Jabbawards and your return to the dark side will be complete :jedi:

There's no escaping... won't be long before we get some documentary made on the mysterious spell that seems to exist on RS owners...

Sorry m8 but that wont happen. However, when the oldest is able to drive, both her and the wife have beem going on about a second car in the house as the Superb will be too big for the eldest after passing. Thing is they are both harping on about the Fab vRS....oh well...a 2 Skoda house coming.

But then......hhmmmmmm.... Fab vRS and an E class Merc ;)

I should also ask why did you get rid then? (expecting the normal repsonses from some quarters :finger: )

My old RS has gone to spain.I would'nt have bought it back as it had been 'spanked a little' :o .{i cant shrink a pic for the avatar}

As for the 528i well someone on here called me a Pikey so.. :D {still not sure who though ;) }

The reason the Superb went ?,

from the moment i took delivery of it the problems started. Dents/underbody damage/headling / the agro i had with the dealer and Skoda UK.

The 100bhp engine felt crude and obviously very underpowered, the gearbox

also felt loose and cheap.Then to top it off some **** keyed the side of it.

It was a case of spend money tuning it or cut my losses and buy the one car i keep being drawn back to.

My wife and son found the ride too soft ? and the body roll uncomfortable{ my son started to get car sick}, also i've never got used to the steering.

I still think the Superb is a good car but not in PD100 guise, i want to be able to do trackday's etc and the RS is the car for me. :)

Steve

cool! well done...

hopefuly mine will be back on the road soon.... after skoda gave me a rear wheel bearing in lieu of a front one...

porsche should have front susp fixed as well... good job i have got Robs smart to get me around.... am actually getting quite used to it...:D

I know what you mean about a car just not feeling right once you've had problems. You need to be completely happy from day one or else...

Funnily enough we're in the process of swapping my wifes Polo 1.4 for a TDi 100bhp. I'm sure the engine will be totally suited to the car, I can't imagine how it would behave pulling around a car three times the size. I've never been too happy with the car we are getting rid of because I saw it prior to the hand over and as it was an ex demo car it was rough with a capital 'R'. Glad to see the back of it really.

Have never driven the Superb with the pd100 so I cant comment myself, however I would say that I wouldnt want to have anything less than the pd130 (which I have) in one.

Its just too much car for too small an engine output.

But I hope you like your vRS even if you have joined the ranks of those turning back to the Dark Side.

Cheers :thumbup:

Im well happy, even bunked of work today to nip down the coast in it with

my wife and daughter.

The engine's so quite i cant hear it :eek: ,and as large as the Superb boot was the RS's hatch is just so much easier to use.
