White or black rims?

Featured Replies

I

Not sure on the black - from afar it looks rather like just cheap

balck steel wheels.

The white looks alright, but will probably be a pain to keep

clean. You might also be able to save yourself the worry of

having to paint the rims if you went for this colour, as I believe

the white WRC edition wheels are available as replacement

parts.

Howabout some kind of red design to fit in with the colour of

the car?

Rob.

I've often thought how good the wheels look with a light coating of brake dust. So how about that dark chrome like on a M5?

The L&K has black chrome alloys, I think, but I find these one a little bit too shiny.

Cheers.

Adrian.

I prefer the original silver finish, but given the choice between black and white, I think white looks better - that's assuming you have a red car. If it is some other colour, please repost pictures so that I can reconsider my choice.

(I think I may be indecisive, although I'm not entirely sure.thinks.gif)

Kribban, it might be a good idea to edit your message and set up a poll for members to vote for black, white, the same, or other.

Mine are being done in either anthracite / gunmetal next week.

I'll post pictures when done. Main reason for the colour? Too idle to clean them :D

Looking good in the white.

black for me - that would look good on a (my) black RS - stealth bomber time...

Thanks for the replays!

Hmm, I don

If you're painting it's got to be black. If your budget allows it I'd go with Adrian's suggestion and get some aftermarket dark/black chrome jobbies.

If I'm honest, then I'd say neither. I don't like the white much, and I definately don't like the black. I hate those gold rims you always seem to get on scoobies too. The only acceptabe colours as far as I'm concerned are traditional silver and stuff like gunmetal and anthracite. Pretty much anything else looks gaudy.

I'am with Rob on this one.

Have you seen those American wheels called Spinners?

As seen on The Tuning Zone on Sky tele. Motors TV.

Basically a crome wheel with a spinning outer disc with cut outs.

As you pull away you can see the wheel behind the outer disc rotating, at first the disc stays still then catches up with the wheel rotation and when you slow down or stop the disc keeps spinning giving the impression of motion.

Really weird :silly:

Vita, definitely! Svarta just looks like you haven't bothered to clean them.

Kribban,

Believe me as the owner of a White vRS with White wheels you do NOT want to paint them white, You will be forever cleaning wheels !!

After one drive of 5 miles the brake dust is starting to show already & if you do not clean them perfectly, they look worse !!

Good Luck

Graham
