whats the top speed on a standard VRs?

Featured Replies

Ive done 140 confirmed on my Tomtom. It still have 1,000 rpm left before the redline. That is more than enough, normally i never go over 100, but wanted to see what it could do, sadly i got to a corner and had to slow down!!

this is a friend of mine and this is what he got out of is. a standard vrshttp://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7XD1swG1Q8w

That's a MkII vRs though, isn't it?

When my car was standard I had a little over 140 out of it before I ran out of road so I would say it would go up to the indicated top speed but after it was remapped I have had 153 - 155 and I think I could have got a little more if I didn't lose my bottle (lol) .

DISCLAIMER - all this was carried out on a test track not the M62 .

balls to top speed,i love the 50+ in 3rd,indicated at over a ton rather rapidly,my ring piece doesn't allow top speed runs on a public road(though it does have a threshold of 135mph ,indicated)

i hear it would be possible to hit an indicated 156mph in a chipped octavia with other mods similar to mine on a flat stretch of road not dissimilar to the M62 at 5:30am on a clear sunday morning. However i cannot confirm this personally.

Hi all, just signed up.

with regard to top speed ive got 07 vrs 2.0 fsi, managed to get 148mph (tomtom) down the a34 south of newbury.its an excellent road when quite some nice sweeping bends:thumbup:

And that was with a boot full of work tools and great big suitcase on the back seat, felt as thou i could hit 150 easy

You mean your private airfield, right?

Must be. Nobody takes their car over 70 mph on the public highway in this country :):)

I certainly don't :D:D:D

I thought he'd just made a few typos and meant the autobahn just south of Nurnberg, German.

sorry typo error was the autobahn.

any of you guys run on tesco 99, what you think of it?

Hi, what else you had done apart from the remap lad?

I run mine on Tesco 99 as I live jsut round the corner from one of their filling stations. Couldn't really compare it to anything else as I've only had the car two weeks and it's the only fuel I've run it on. Idle does seem a little lumpy sometimes but this could be a charachteristic of the engine?

One thing I will say is it seems quite sooty, I remember it was the same with my Integra, ran fine but would always have a sooty area round the exhaust, Skoda seems to be the same.

Nada.

A34 is a private track south of Newbury on my map ;) its next to A35 and A33 grid squares
