When a volunteer steps up and organises it:rolleyes::Palso how much cash do you need to cover fuelDepends on your car and how you drive, petrol is roughly the same price abroad with the current exchange rates, accomodationiirc last year it was approx £140, but will depend on a) inflation, quality of accomodation booked:) etc?An excellent meal and beers could be had for £20, a good meal and bers for £10, and a quality snack and beers for £5. Beer was from 40p 1/2 liter in the bars

NB the exchange rate at the time was approx 39 Cz clowns to £1, currently exchange rate is 29 Cz clowns to £1 so add 30% + inflation :(

I'm not going to start looking into this (if I decided to do it - would prefer a bit of a joint effort really ) until the early part of 2009.

i wouldnt know where to start so id be no good. but would be willing to help.

Well, first port of call for me will be travel agents to be honest. If the 2009 trip is going to be as big as I suspect it might, I'm going to want to have a good browse for suitable accommodation, and also ensure car security is tip top this time.

Bit of a rock and a hard place there Jason, If you start a feeler thread I suspect you will get upwards of 50+ folks by the time you have finnished, meaning you will need to book early to find a reasonable priced hotel that can accommodate everyone. Leave it too late and I suspect it will be oversubscribed for what you can find. Then of course if you start the thread too early you will get a shed load of 'me, me, I'm a deffo only to find they drop out when it comes round to it :grumpy: and in the mean time you will have put in the leg work.

Because you will only be staying in one hotel and will therefore be able to pay a deposit followed by a balance I would suggest starting a feeler thread fairly early and getting a deposit from everyone at the latest early in the new year and then if a lot do want to go you can get the hotel secured for the numbers required with commitment from the participants, and not risk anything other than their deposits if they then pull out for whatever reason.

Much less driving, more family oriented, plenty to do and see in the area.

ive just realised how my post must sound to you emily, im not ungrateful in fact with lots of different events on for next year it will give people more choice of what they can do and get more brisky members involved.
