What can't you stand about other drivers

Featured Replies

Well, with me its roundabouts and these things wind me up:

1) People who dont indicate when approaching a roundabout when they know they are coming off at the 1st exit. (and dont even bother as they are exiting)

2) People who dont indicate right when approaching a roundabout when they know they are turning right.

3) People who dont bother using any indicator at a roundabout even just to show other roadusers where they intend to exit at.

4) People who think they have the right of way when they are waiting to get on the roundabout and just push their way on in front of you as you are going round it.

Rant over

*lets out a big exhail of air*

People's inability to use the left-hand lane unless they're overtaking...

Rob.

Van drivers who have broken mirrors. Pull up to the side of the road, and open the door as far as possible without being able to see what's coming.

People who criticise other's driving and try to police the roads (without anything to qualify them for that position)....

Chris

Other driver's that think they own MY road

Hand held phone users

Nose pickers

Make up artists

Blokes Shaving (not seen any women doing it yet but there is bound to be one)

Rubbish T0ssers ( out of the window)

PAArsko (suddenly turned grumpy old git since 48 birfdy yest)

Tw@ts that go right at roundabouts in the left hand lane, despite clearly marked arrows on each entry lane - then nearly smash me up as I indicate and attempt to move into the correct lane on exit  .

This happens at a small roundabout on my drive home where there is a small dual carriageway on the right exit and two lanes coming in. Left lane is for left and straight over, right is for right only yet loads of dipsh$ts still go right round with you then carve you up.......

*People with one-touch-4-flashes indicators who cancel the indication then cancel the canceled one and so on. READ THE FLIPPIN MANUAL!!

*As above, people in the left lane at a roundabout when they're going right.

*Kids on mopeds.

lol........

I get used to so much bad driving, I tend not to get wound up.... BUT lack of simple lane disciplin on the motorway bugs me, it causes big problems, and reduces the capacity.....

people who pull out to overtake, and then spend ages sitting on your shoulder

When theres an obstruction on the other side of the road, (eg. a lorry or bus) and the traffic on that side just barges through and expects ME to drive in the gutter or on the pavement, when clearly they should be waiting for me to go past:finger:

I have decided to just stop now exactly where I am, I will not YIELD:rofl:

Just like the tw*t today in the Mitsubishi:eek:, yes it was me papping at you, you inconsiderate t*sser!

People that obviously think their driving is immaculate and question the need to for people to police other people....

People who throw cigarette's out the window.

well where do i start!!.......here in Dublin?.....think i would need a very long bit of paper!!......But the main one is that you can drive here all legal WITHOUT passing a driving test!!!!! then run into the back of people (me) while stationary then just sit there and shrug your shoulders and say 'what do you want me to do about it!'

I would say taking and passing your driving test 'qualifies' you to know what is right and what is wrong. When i passed my test we were taught to be considerate to other road users which i try to do, but it seems that this has been forgotten or isn't taught anymore with some drivers. Infact, some will use there vehicle as an intimidation tool as if they are asking you for a fight with the way they use their car towards you. Its nice to be nice, curtious and considerate, sometimes its even returned.

You'd think so, but I've found people often think you've done something wrong if you overtake someone on a single-carriageway (eg. overtaking someone doing 20mph in a 30-zone).

"Never pull out in such a way as to cause other drivers to slow or change direction" - it's still taught but sadly seems to be something forgotten by a lot of people after they've passed their test...

Lane discipline on the motorway is the biggest gripe of mine

people who tailgate even though you are travelling at the correct speed (in town), and, people who drive at 40mph where national limit applies and continue at same speed through towns / villages.

People who attempt to turn right out of a T-junction by blocking on coming traffic in the hope that someone will let them out. Well I can tell you....it won't be me!

At DSA level perhaps. However, go out with a police driver and see how much "wrong" they do, especially surrounding signalling and lane use at roundabouts....

So what you're saying is that it's only the less than perfect drivers who are able to criticise other drivers? Maybe people should look at their own driving before criticising others?

Chris

See pretty much any of the above except Kit's one about Dublin, cos I've never driven there.

Then add people old enough to be my mother who will not move over as required by law when you catch them doing 40mph on single-track roads.

I read that as "People who are poorer drivers than the people they are criticising".

Drivers who stop at roundabouts when you can see from half a mile away that it's clear

re dublin......if they had a show over here like they have in the UK like Road Wars, they would be able to fill an entire channel for a year!!.....keep thinking one day il fix a camera to the car and drive around!!

That they are in my lane on my motorway when I want to practise my driving skills 'Bavarian Style' so that I am prepared should I ever buy one of "those" German motors. ;)
