Mapped VRS - how fast??

Featured Replies

I smoked a 106 gti on the bypass and my mate has a CTR, and I gave him a good run for his money. So I wouldnt be "biggin" yourself up too much.

No, you didn't! You were probably dreaming or they were not trying.

You might have been smokin' something, but I suggest it was more likely crack!

On my BX point earlier:

BX 16 Valve Home Page - 160bhp stock and 1070kg, 149.5bhp/tonne - not bad that.

I think if the furby is 180 then yes in a straight line a 106 has no chance above 60 BUT ctr No.

The driver of the civic must of been in the wrong gear when you both went for it otherwise you would only see the bumper and if both were driving round bends which is the only way to check out real performance then you would not stand a chance.

Straight lines are for PUSSYs corners are for real Drivers it just comes down at the end of the day on the ability and Mental Atittude of said drivers. Some are more reserved and just like too toy a bit some others think there Shumacher and go hell for leather.

Thing is the 106GTi engine is pretty easy to modify for more power as there are plenty of things you can do to it. I bet you can get more power out of the CTR too so it in some ways the comparison isn't fair.

Still the poster no doubt can also smoke an atom ;)

Ha mention anything about possibly beating a Honda, and this guy don't like it!

Winge Whinge Whinge..... Are you really a Woman?:thumbup: (This guy)

keeping up with a CTR in a straight line, maybe you would like to pay snoopie a visit on a private airfield because I'd love to see it.

You might beat a CTR if they were off cam and couldn't be arsed to change down or try. If they are on cam you don't stand a hope.

HTH

I'm more than happy for that, I wouldn't mind going to a private airfield one afternoon or at a weekend, with a lots of people, it will put these silly claims to sleep.

106's, Fabia's, Remapped Leon Cupra R's, everything....

Be good fun too, and if there's a daily fee, I wouldn't mind contributing.

Bengie, if your reading this... Which one did you go too?

Gimme my BX back and I'll eat the lot of you:D

If I could buy a new one now, with better build quality, I'd never want another car.

Oh ok? maybe it was a dream then.... sorrrry.

so if i wasted a saxo vts off the line and there apparantly 7.2s then a 106 gti aint gonna be much quicker, bear in mind i said a "bypass"

In answer to the first question asked in this thread

YouTube - 106 GTI vs Slowda Fabia VRs

HTH :D

That was Symon videoing him with his mates.....

This site is for Skoda owners and enthusiasts.... I use to have a Fabia, and I've contributed to the site some time ago, by paying the £12 membership fee.

I presume your on here, for arguements... and learning how to 'turn up the boost' in your Fabia.

And it's a Carbon bonnet, not black!

Wrong again! :P

:rofl::rofl:

Bangin Vid Innit........ PHAT

The video isn't banging. It's Sik Blad!:rofl:

 this thread has got better.

I want to prove once and for all that the fabia vrs is slower than a civic type r.

Snoopie u fancy going somewhere to have a little race with my re-mapped fabia so we can prove once and for all that the fabia vrs is no match for the CTR?

Not dissin the fabia.......... its a brill car, its practical, affordable and economical. It Just isnt a Supercar!

Yup got done by my mate in his Laguna TDi not long ago up a hill

I've done a CTR up a hill, but I know full well that I had the advantage of the hill and that he wasn't on cam.

You could sure as anything hear when he went on cam mind. :D

That skoda gets an awsome start against that 106 in the video! the GTi driver obviously aint too good...shouldn't had been a problem for it off the line.

When i said a remapped vRS would give a CTR a good go! I was talking about a standard CTR not a tuned version like snoopie's:rolleyes:so snoopie's CTR would beat any Fabia which has only a remap!

I had a play with a 53 plate Astra GSI the other night and there wasnt much init:eek:going from 20 to 110 down a dual carragway and he was only level with me!! A standard CTR has the same bhp and a lot less torque so im guessing that wouldnt be any quicker;)

Im sure snoopie disagree's:confused:;)

Paul, it's more to do with the way the Civic delivers it's power to the road. It's very progressive, when your turbo, or a turbo petrol car starts to spin out of puff at super high revs, the Vtec is only kicking in, even at the limiter, it's making a few bhp less than it makes at a peak. Which is why they pull so well.

My civic, or whoever's, doesn't matter. What we could do, if we're all up for a meet to go to a runway or so, bring different variations of each car. Robshaw at the moment, has a standard CTR. I'm more than up for it, be a good day and a laugh too.

No problem mate, my car isn't in England at the moment, as it's having some 'work' done to it. But when it's back up.... :P, Probably late December, Early January.

I would be up for that in either car depending on where it is!

Snoopie, have you ever used CPL Racing in Kent?
