Mapped VRS - how fast??

Featured Replies

I was nowhere near the redline when doing 150MPH, speedos are out a bit anyway.

Im sure if you took a 180BHP petrol and a 180BHP diesel the diesel would win everytime, loads more torque.

Well I'm more thinking the final drive ratio * the max RPM will give max speed so I'm thinking that 150mph "nowhere near the redline" in 6th would be a bit of a challenge.

No remap is going to change the final drive.

Also on the aero front I heard that an Octy II PD140 with a map on it struggles at about 140mph GPS, and that is probably a lot more aero than a fabia IMHO.

IIRC the fabia rev limiter is something in the low 4000's as standard.

Mine aint. Ive not hit 150mph yet, got close to it tho just over 145.

To do 150mph on those ratios you are talking about 4.6k RPM.

To do that would require some serious power to overcome the wind resistance and friction etc. Force required to overcome the wind resistance goes up as a square with speed not a straight line, so to get from 140-150 would require a big big power jump.

Not to mention that speedo's are not that accurate as when doing 216kmh by GPS the speedo was showing almost 240kmh.

Ok to settle this a VW product will never be quicker than a Honda there just to good standard and especially modded

And that was on road tyres hes still to get the slick .

The Veyron, Lambo's and Bentleys are all "VW Products" are they not?

Not applying any commonsense to the interpretation of your last post, you've just said that you firmly believe that the NSX is faster than the Veyron...? :ready2go:

(Neither of which can hold a candle to the 2.0l Fabia, of course! ;) )

Yes excluding supercar spec VAG cars then, didn't get time to edit post before you lot got in and spoiled it. I think it would still give a few of them a real scare. But maybe not the Veyron tho.

Gimme my BX back and I'll eat the lot of you:D

If I could buy a new one now, with better build quality, I'd never want another car.

Really miss mine, thinking of getting a solid shell and installing the 2.1L XUDT in it that was in a Xantia.

110bhp td would be pretty nice, especially if you were to let Allards etc loose on it.

TT V6 Quattro or Golf R32 vs CTR, then?

It depends on the mk of tt as i would think it would be fair to compair generations that came out about the same time as obvious gains in technology have made in new gen much more able.

but still it would be interesting if power/weight were about the same to see which were the best drivers car in a fair way

So whose d*ck was biggest in the end:confused:

On your clocks though. 130MPH on the clocks is 118mph on GPS for the Fabia. So, Your fantastic 145-150 claims would realistically be 125+ based on the accuracy.

185BHP with those modifications? Better than what everyone else can achieve anyway. Always the way....

Remaps will not alone... help you to increase your maximum speed, they just push harder throughout the rev range, but still run out of Puff at the high end, my modified Fabia's top speed was no different to that when it was standard.

Forge Front Mount Intercooler, PD160, Green Panel Filter, Blueflame turbo back exhaust, De-cat, Remap etc etc. About 160-165 bhp...

So whose d*ck was biggest in the end:confused:

We're firmly establishing, that Symon is the biggest........

Blah blah blah

Who gives a toss

My car is faster, my car is faster, whinge whinge

I asked the question and i wish i never, just wanted a rough answer not a ' my car is faster than your's thread'

If i wanted that i would of signed up to a max power website or a barryboys one

Rant over

haha ok mr wise guy, you got a problem with me or what? your having a laugh at 160-165bhp. standard they can be 140ish so get a life. PM if u wanna chat about what my car is. and i very much doubt that 145mph is actually 125, i mean a speedo being out by 14% get a grip.

Standard 140 bhp... LOL...

If your knowledge on speedo accuracy is anything as bad as my knowledge on an LSD, or even worse, your knowledge on your OWN car, and again your knowledge on Tesco's petrol is ANYTHING to go by, then I have no worries at all...

140 from a standard car, flywheel figure? I bet the WHP figure which is the accurate figure, is nothing more than a 130 appropiate figure. I have got a problem with you, I think your a high horsed ****!

You've come here, out of know where, been on the forum 5 minutes, and know everything about **** all!

160-165? No, about right, after all, that's what most RR graphs state, although I never had mine RR, watching cars with the same modifications, that's all they make.

Now, go and put Petrol in your Fabia vRS!

so all the remap ppl out there are lying every1. only 15bhp increase or so. You dont even know me so why an opinion. Do some research on standard VRS and when there put on a rolling road. Did I say I knew everything? Its all about learning son.

You know nothing about the Fabia vRS, this is proven by the amount of innaccurate information you've been providing on everything. Keep it coming...

I agree that you were doing 145mph on the clocks, and in your opinion that's a true GPS speed of 140, but were you too busy looking at the clocks to see the flock of pigs fly across the sky?

10% of 145, is around 130. Notice I put 125+, a little over 125. Which is recorded for the Fabia 127mph Top speed.

So, not only is your maths wrong, but your now going to claim GPS equipment isn't as good as a speedo.

its <---------> that fast :D

its <---------> that fast :D

Is that remapped or standard? And how fast is the CTR?

The world needs to know :D

Chris

its <---------> that fast :D

 I expected no different from you ... :P

Had enough of your comments now. My mate got a picture, but im not putting it up on here as that'd be about as stupid as putting a bid of your bike speeding passed a school on youtube. I agree the clocks will be out but your stupid comments on 125. You need to go to bed school boy. You take this far too serious and its asthough your life depends on this forum, but actually your very sad as you own a different manufacturers car. Mummy's calling bed time snoops
