Skoda image

Featured Replies

I bought a Vrs Oct not really thinking about image as i liked the car and fell in love and also due to the fact that insurance for a scooby was £2k

I parked it randomly next to a scooby and was so distictly disappointed.

Every one takes the **** out of skodas even tho they are cool.

Went on a date yesterday and she took the **** all night about it !!!

I do like it still every time i look at it i just think i am shallow and care about what every one thinks!!

I hate having to try and talk people around especially when they drive something like a saxo!

She took the **** even when you booted it?

I have a mate who takes the **** all the time, but she gets as good as she gives so you know :-)

Did the lass in question reject you because of the skoda, if not where is the loss and if she did, well quite frankly no loss.

Just point out the £££'s you saved on insurance can be used to buy her things.*

***** when did I start telling women what they wanted to hear

I'd say it's a form of envy.

I bought my Skoda because it did all the things I wanted and wasn't too expensive. I didn't much care about the badge.

The people who take the **** are the people who worry about what their car says about them. Most Skoda owners don't need a car to say anything about them; we're more characterful than that. Imagine if the defining feature of your personality was that you drove a Ford...

It's normally people who don't know anything about cars :)

Tell them it's the same as a vw / audi and they won't laugh as hard.

Also if it's the vrs boot it and see them change their views!

I normally just reply with, "that shows how little you know about cars"!

Why buy a Skoda if your worried about what others will say, just get it mapped and modded and all they will ever see is the rear of your car as it pulls away from them.

Live with it.

Fook em'

:) I have to say I find it amusing.. the people with the problem are the ones who know the least.. I buy the car for myself, no-one else .

I get stick from mates but only because they know it will get a reaction. Funnily enough the ones who don't take the pee are the Leon Cupra and old Golf owners, we just talk mods.

I brought mine because it's got a super huge boot :)

I could'nt give a $**T what other people thought about it

Even more so when they see me overtaking them :P

Trust me not only would your insurance be 2K you will need shares in BP to run one!!!

I got mine as i was looking to buy a cheap secondhand car with a bit of power. My brother works for an Audi dealer and they had this in px said i could have it trade in price which was a bargain. My immediate thought -its a skoda.

I looked up performance figures and found its darn quick. Then i told the lads at work which i was expecting "OH its skoda rubbish, surprisingly enough i got "i heard their a nice car in fact a vw underneath"

Now everytime i drive through town turbo whistling as accelerate i feel proud as punch.

Nice one Skoda:):)

I take the **** outta my brother's Skoda every chance I get which, given the amount of time it spends being broken, is often :D

I also make up chances to take the ****, just for fun :D

You might say that people need to see past the badge etc etc, but a lot of people need to see past they're own smugness...:P

My m8 calls mine a Slowda:mad: Can't argue when he's got a 360bhp Skooby, but who gives a dam, Everyone & their mother seems to own a Skooby nowadays:D

Yes they are a bit of a clit

Yes they are a bit of a clit

:rofl::rofl:

Sod the image,

You can see below what my other car is and tbh I like the skoda just as much but for different reasons. It's quite funny really as I also get the t*****s who give the lots of trouble crap too. The amusing thing is I'm the one with the V8 supercar and they have a vauxford hmmmmm.

The Vrs is ace.

Just my 2p.

Cheers

could been alot worse you could have bought a pauxall or even worse a french car, so enjoy it

Oooh - I've always liked them. Sorry for the slightly cheeky question, but are they any good?

i had a favorit as one of my first cars and that held together like a tank. ive had the p##s ripped out of me for ages about it and now i have an octy vrs my dads back on my case taking the mick. he hasnt been in it yet and cant wait til he pops up this weekend. im so gonna wipe the smile of his rover 75 face

The image is not as bad as it was! But if I was a new owner and what happened to me had happened I would be WTF?!?!?!?

I couldnt give a rats *** what people think. At the end of the day I've got a lot of car for not much money, they can go figure....

Everyone at work takes the **** out of my car, but just for the sake of takgin the **** really. They all know they're decent cars behind the badge, but to be honest none of them really know what they're talking about with cars!

I find you'll either meet people who know about cars and these will apreciate the Skoda for being a bit of a sleeper and a nice motor.

Then there are the other people who don't know about cars and will s****** at the Skoda badge. :finger:

I had a similar thing with my old Integra, people who know what they are think they're amazing, most people just think Honda's are old peoples cars.

Just ignore them. I like to think that it makes a statement about you. That you're a smart buyer whne it comes to cars.

I was looking into getting a Mk4 Golf or a Bora. To get either of those with simillar interior spec, and nice wheels and a sporty setup would cost a damn site more than the Octy. In fact, I don't think you can get the 180bhp engine in a Bora, just the Anniversary Golf, so they'd all be underpwoered in comparison too!

Umm, I think my point is finished now! :P

Totally agree!!

Ive had my octy VRS for over a year now and had nothing but positive reactions and comments towards,i even work with a guy who has an evo 4 and he likes the VRS alot,i like to think of it as thinking outside the box...for the same money i might have got a car with a better "image" but i doubt it would have been anything of the sporty variety which is what i was after.

Oh and on the subject of ladies....first night i got it after my tae kwon do class one of the girls in the class demanded i take her home in it when she seen it....:D
