Illuminated rear legroom

Featured Replies

According to the brochure my comfort should have illumiated rear footwells. Are they only lit up when the engine is off / when the door is open? Or should they be perminatly lit up?

Regards,

Chris

Only with the door open

Only when the doors are open buddy and the lamps themselves are underneath the front seats....

Would be a nice Fabia mod this :)

Are the LED ones brighter? Is it easy to do?

They are brighter but the spread is not as much as the original's but I have changed all the interior lights to be white and not the classic halogen 'orange'....wiring them in is fairly simple...

I think Rich (Fabia12V) put these in on his car, but I can't remember. Not sure if he's sold his "wreck" either - he might still have all the bits you need :D

...any thoughts on doing a retrofit? I've got a classic and (as far as I'm aware, although I will check tonight) it's only got illuminated front footwells.

hmmm, im thinking of such a task for the octy 2 if anyone has any ideas ;)

I meant my car doesnt come with the rear foot well illum.

Anyway how i can install them in ?

Retrofit would be easy mate and I could sell you the OEM lamps no problem as I will never use them again...

I am about to advertise some LED lamps that I have fitted to mine but only in Red I am afraid....

If you have the space for them in the seats then it shouldn't be that difficult....just a case of running some cables off the front lamps...

If you did that, wouldn't that make them only illuminate when you opened the front doors?

anyone done a write up, im seriously thinking of doing this and add some black lights ;)

Yeah sorry....I meant you would have to wire them into the door open switches on the rear doors but it wouldn't be difficult...

Hmmm, don't think I've got these on mine.

Must have a scour of ETKA, see what can be sorted. I do like OEM style interior lighting mods!

group buy ;)

Well I've been looking on ETKA. The actual lights are about a fiver each, and it lists a bracket for them.

Baker - any chance of some photos of the lights and their mountings? Also of the door handle illumination too...? It would be very much appreciated indeed!

I have the lamps in the boot of the car and will take some pics at lunchtime and then post them up here including the door handles...

Cheers.

Would also like a picture of under the seat and the footwell itself if possible. :)
