Tuning Fabia VRS to 200bhp

Featured Replies

Guys,

I had my car tuned by Celtic tuning yesterday; apparently they have a new beast of a map that jumps you up to 200bhp, so I went for it.

It cost me £360 come to you service included testing your ecu downloading info e-mailing it to their head office so the new map could be e-mailed back; all done within 1hr and half.

Tested the car and boy does it fly!!!!:):)

you can't get 200bhp from just a remap.

:iagree:

Assuming you're not one of the advertisers-pretending-to-be-a-member that we've had on here in the last few months, then you should be asking some pretty searching questions of Celtic Tuning. Especially as you were told 200bhp, their website says 190bhp, and the example dyno they have shows 183bhp! Don't get me wrong - £360 is a reasonable price for a generic remap, and 183bhp from it isn't bad either. It just seems a little like they've been feeding you a line...

Get it on a good rolling road and find out the truth, bet its not 200bhp.

I see... i see the future........ i see a turbo with a hole in it..

I agree it sounds a bit far fetched

Do they have proof?

Steve

Hmmm, surely this would cause problems if it was supposidly 200 stallions

you can't get 200bhp from just a remap.

Surely that depends on the tuner's rolling road ;)

Chris

1- no way. impossible.

2- This is advertising.

He's just saying what great service he's had from a company?!

I was originally paying for the 190bhp remap but they stated to me when they came they had a new stronger remap and would I like that instead for the same price.

However I should get my car rolling tested to confirm this.

They said it takes a couple of days for the remap to produce full power.

How much does a rolling road test cost??

As stated 200bhp from just a remap just isn't possible.

Not for very long anyway

The standard turbo won't shift enough air so if your car does have 200bhp you're going to speed up global warming.

Awesome GTI's rolling road page has their prices (other places' prices may differ, of course!), and also an archive of previous r-r days' results. On there, you'll also be able to see the sort of power other remapped Fabia vRS owners are getting...

Hope this helps!

A place round me charges around £40 ish for a run. Only just in so wants to re coop as much ££ in asap. Think it cost him 60k

I'd get it in writing from Celtic then take it to a RR, then ask for your money back.

I'd imagine around 180, but enjoy it for what it is and forget pub talk BHP's

I got mine remapped on Tuesday at a4audi in glasgow, they are celtic tuning agent north of the border, the guys from celtic tuning were there and I spoke to them, no mention of 200bhp remap, only the usual 190 they claim on the website which I probably think will be good for 170/80 ish on a RR but not had it checked yet.

Great service though and plenty fast enough for me!!

mine was 177bhp on generic map by custom code - let's say 180ish is achievable on a good day with standard turbo.

For higher numbers you need a different turbo :)

Still, it will drive like a different car :D

Anyway enough with the slanging. If anything its Celtic tuning that are false advertising. We all know that it is incorrect

Sorry but as others have said thats not possible from just a remap

Yeah we all know that. Celtic are just using it as a advertising ploy, claiming higher figures than actually achieved. If anything it should be written on paper and taken to trading standards.

Im sure they could get a rolling road to show 200, the joys of an innacurate science. ~Albeit one down the road would probably show it considerably less!

I know of one rolling road that changes the air pressures manually in the software when any of his local competitors cars come in and it shows them drastically down on HP.

I know of one down south that does a low reading, gets you to spend a pile & post spending run shows a massive improvement.

I will ad its not a VAG specialist or anyone I have seen talked about on Briskoda

All for money eh

All for money eh

But tbh if people weren't so hung up on headline bhp figures it wouldn't work ;)
