Octy vRS Shopping List Following Brunters

Featured Replies

I had that with a silver Fabia (never found out who it was) in my middle session. I got past nearly everything but couldn't outdrag this Fabia. Shame because in the corners I was all over him.

Leeboy was watching you going round and round all day long. Suprised your tyres are intact!

Well impress with my tyres actually, Kumho cheapys, Look just like the pictures a page or two back, a few bits missing but still legal!

Speaking of tyres - a stone at Brunters has cost me a Federal tyre, thanks to me not noticing it was flat, and running it flat has fooked it. So, I'm about to order two Toyo Proxes from mytyres and whip the ones off the old rims, so very shortly I'm gonna be running on Proxes all round - and looking forward to it.

As it happens, these Federals were sh!t hot around Brunters and I was impressed with the handling - It just seems the softness of the hot rubber has allowed a stone to puncture it and the left front sidewall now has a bulge in it and needs replacing too...

Me too - Kumho Ecsta 712 ?

I saw someone was running these on the day, meant to ask how they went!! I'm thinking of getting some when the remaining tread goes from my PZero's... or before my next long trip, whichever is sooner!! (balancing gone on current tyres, and I know garages will say "no point" if I wanted them re-done!)

Rog,

forgot to mention previously I as a Jabba when a LCR was remapped and had a boost controller fitted....owner is Russboy...can't remember if he's on CupraNet or SE.....anyway I digress.....should have seen his face when Michael told him the result.........

......286bhp!

Get yourself over to Jabba...you know it makes sense. ;)

I also note from your sig you have the S3 upper strut brace....I guess there was some drilling involved? How much was it, if I may ask?

Yes, I've chatted to Russboy. Very nice figures for his car!!

I am planning on going the Jabba route, but have plans first for a race cat & custom exhaust, as well as something different on the intake side of things, and maybe even an FMIC to replace the twin side-mounts (not much air gets to them!!). Obviously with those mods, the fully-tailored Jabba map is the best way to go, so it can get the best from the works!! Now, for those of you I passed / lapped at brunty - look out!! :D

As for the strut brace - 3 holes in each turrent is all that was needed, and on the Leon a small bit of grinding around the bonnet lifter - it was too tight a fit otherwise. Really easy job to do, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Another thing that's worth doing is fitting the S3 lower strut brace - the LCR comes with it as standard, but I know the Cupra doesn't, so would guess that the Octy vRS doesn't have one - no drilling required for that - the holes in the subframe are already there!!

There are a couple of threads over on SCN in the "Leon" section outlining braces. If anyone's interested, the threads are here and here.

Hope that helps??

Cheers Rog.

Any idea on the price of the upper struct brace?

I think the lower one is around
