Is that a stratmosphere hyperboost?

Got my forge springs today and tried out the green one with no spacers.Car seems fine with it...Infact damn fast with no noticable boost leak. I think the green one suits me fine.

  • Have a look on the US MKV forum, understand you have a MKI Octy but you may be interested to know that the TFSI engine has similar issues..........they also link to MKIV forums so will be worth a look

  • Ace keep us updated mate. I've got a stratmosphere DV on mine at the mo so might be keep to swap it for another DV if it does the trick.

  • Think F is the latest one, the J is similar to the ECS one causes boost spikes,

Yep, its the hyper boost, well from what I know it is :)

What remap did you go for, and do you know what the peak psi is?

Forge recommend the yellow one for mine, tried it out? Worth it as it'd only take 2 mins to swap!

I Emailed forge about the springs and got this.

" The 006 comes with a blue spring installed , I would suggest that this to strong for your 1.8T application and I would recommend the green or yellow"

As you should have the weakest spring possible which will hold the boost and not leak yet open when throttle off,the green one was the one for me.

The extra grunt probably comes from the fact its bloody cold out there!

hello guys im now the newest member to the remap hesitation club lol Cars fecking awesome all the same tho, mines was mapped by star performance i scotland and ive emailed jim describing the problem, ill post any suggestion i get if theyre diffirent from whats already been tried.

Well, i've decided it def isn't the diverter valve, having tried 3, and the forge with different springs :)

I'm going to buy a N75 this week I think and give that a go.

Also went to clean my throttle body, took the big pipe off and it was spotless so the other side of the butterfly would be the same so didn't bother :)

I've also tried unplugging the MAF which made no difference.

I think the 2 main things could be;

N75

Turbo pipes

Oh and I also found what happens if you unplug the N75... no boost. I fitted the new forge last night and was confused when the car was ALOT slower. Forgot to plug it back in, ooops!! It WAS smooth tho :D

Got your n75 yet martziniuk?

yep arrived today gonna fit later

well i emailed jim at star describing the problem and he immediatly said i need a new N75 and that it was a common problem with the octavia, so im gonna go pick one up tomorrow and see how it goes.

posts from the seat forum say that some have tried up to three n75s to get one that works properly.

Ok got back from fitting new N75 and its fixed........only joking.

Car is exactly the same as before tiny hesitation in forth and fifth. While cover was off i decided to gap the spark plugs down to 6MM- (claimed to fix some cars on seat forum) ,no better infact i don't think it pulled quite as well and hesitated in third as well.So put back to 7mm.

Iam now wondering if perhaps a turbo pipe is semi collapsing when gear is changed and the initial surge is present which then dies back down and pipe reopens giving boost back.

I am thinking aloud and don't know if this is possible hopefully someone maybe able to answer this.

Ethos did you get your new forge yet?

Unlucky :(

Yep, got it yesterday! ... ran it with the yellow spring and the car was SLOOOW... but then I *Cough* remembered that I hadn't plugged the N75 back in!!! Ooopsy, same problem with the forge I'm afraid. (My other DV is for sale on the forums now, hope someone buys it- can't REALLY afford to be spending money like this... luckily the girlfriend doesn't know!).

Was going to get a new N75 this week, £40ish for a new one. To be honest... mine looks like it's been changed before, it has the one time clamps but they don't look very tidy....

I was thinking turbo pipes would be the next thing... bar inspecting them I have no idea how we'd test them?

Also, I have no idea where they are really...i'm guessing jacking the front up and having a look underneath would show us everything we need to see.

We'll get to the bottom!

Oh... and if it was 100% known working send it down my way to test to save me £40 ;)

Ethos is yours remapped?

send me your address via pm and i will loan it to you if you post it back again.

I agree.... the std intake pipe is very soft/flexi at the point were the N75 valve fits.

Also.......anyone know if there is anything on the inside of the N/S front inner wing that could block the intake into the std filter box ????

The reason I ask is, I previously owned a Sierra 2.9 XR4x4 and one day while I had it on the pit at work, I noticed the plastic intake trumpet inside the N/S inner wing was very very close to the front bumper. When I took the intake pipe off you could clearly see an oval shaped mark on the inside of the bumper caused by the intake pipe.

Once I'd altered the intake pipe the car got a new lease of life ....... anyway, just a thought !!!!!

Hmm, its worth a forum search.

I have a tiny split on the big thick hose that joins to the dv.A new one is waiting to be picked up but iam very sure this is not my prob as when reved no air escapped. Although i suppose it could on full load. I doubt it but you never know.

Mine has the exact same hesitation you have described, I noticed it about 2 hours into a 180 mile journey home after having a jabba custom remap done last thursday.

Jabba already replaced the N75 valve while they were doing the remap.

Today I have checked all around the pipe work etc (top and bottom) and cannot see any faults.

I'm expecting a Forge 007P to arrive in the next couple of days to replace the std Bosch DV.

I'll let you know if the 007P "does the trick".

bill

PS. I can see this getting expensive

Bill,

Have you thought about contacting jabba about the hesitation. Maybe they can shed some light on the problem. I presume this started after the remap so maybe they would have a look for you?

Ive got a new N75 on order from vag parts,i know many have tried this but with no succes but when i got in touch with my tuner and described the problem this was the first thing he suggested, saying it was common on the octavia. If it fails then ill be geting back in touch to see of any other possible solutions.

I've seen a video clip showing the main hose going to the turbo collapsing on a remapped Jetta in the US, apparantly it's quite common. Here's the link to the clip http://www.billswebspace.com/oemTIPcollapse.mpg

Fantastic vid Dan. This has really got me woundering.

Is this part a T.I.P hose?

Ok whos gonna be the first to get an uprated hose:rolleyes:

I was thinking of uprading the turbo hosing, also noticed that if i smoothly feed the power in rather than just plant my foot the hesitation is less noticable, still there but not as apparent.

noticed awesome do forge uprated turbo hoses and i got a letter from my credit card people saying theyre not gonna charge me any interest for quite some time...hmmmmmmmmmmmm :D
