One Touch Indicators

Featured Replies

Ok a quick one for those of you with Vag-Com.

Can the number of flashes the indicators make after one touch of the stalk be increased from three? I ask because, to me, three is too few and it needs to be more like five. This is especially true on the motorway when the three flashes are generally up before you’ve started changing lanes, let alone finished, and when it usually takes other drivers a couple of flashes to register your intent.

0-255 I think.

Login is 21343

Depending on model (Part Number) it's either channel 6 or 7.

255 flashes!

Chris

Surely having ore than three would make it even more of a pain if you were to knock the stalk? Whilst driving a friends Fabia, it drove me mad having the one touch feature... I was just constantly indicating one way and then the other whilst trying to correct them

I would be happy with 174 flashes, 255 is too many.............

It would make up for those t|ts who never indicate I suppose.

On a serious note- why would you want more than 3??? If you need more then you would push the indicator up/down to the on position if for example exiting a motorway.

I think the AIM recommendation is 5 isn't it?

That said, TBH I've never had a problem with 3 flashes on the Skoda's... my trauma is now is forgetting that other cars don't do it and end up barely flashing once before changing lanes which is bound to upset the latest exec trying to break the UK land speed record.

Three just seems far too few from my experience on the motorway... others haven't registered that the indicators are flashing by the time they've stopped.

5 would suit me nicely.

For a lane change , 3 is too few. You either touch and go which defeats the point of indicating , or you indicate then wait for a couple of seconds by which point they have stopped

Surely the one touch feature is just there for those situations on a free flowing motorway when you only really need to indicate out of courtesy to those around you. What's so hard about putting them on normally and then turning them off once you have completed the maneuver? Sorry for going off the topic.

I only really use my one touch indicators when coming off a roundabout.

!! - BUMP - !!

Just a quick query to see if anyone has had this managed to do this change recently?

Our Octavia's just been in for a couple of other bits (service interval changing to variable from fixed and enabling of second rear foglight) and I asked the dealer to have a go at extending the number of flashes to three. He's tried but failed and has been told by Skoda Techical it's not possible (maybe the software on my car?).

Hence they reckon it's either three or nothing?

Anyone with any other info or experience?

How do you get in to change this, what controller number etc?

Steve

i might look at doing this next weekend, what are the options i need to pick on vag com? IAM who im doing my advance with hate my 3 flash indicator option so i want to change it to 5 too.

The only models which actually allow one to change this setting are the Polo (PQ24) based ones (i.e. Fabia/Roomster/Ibiza). The Golf (PQ35) based ones do not support changing the number of blinks, sorry.

so a big no for the octy II then?

Correct, that is what I said.

The one touch on my 2007 Fabia vRS can be adjusted between 0 and 5 flashes. VCDS (VAG-COM) reports that the range 0-255 is available, but only 0-5 are accepted.

To adjust one touch, select:

09 - Central Elect

Adaptation - 10

Ch 6

The default value is 3 (flashes). I changed that to 0 which turned one touch off. The maximum number of flashes which can be set is 5.

I disabled one touch because I found that I was occasionally selecting it inadvertently when using setting cruise control which shares the same stalk.

i know im digging up an old post (via search) but has the latest vag com got the option to do this on a oct 2 now?

This isn't a question of what VAG-COM is capable, the problem here is that VW/Skoda never specified such a function to be implemented and therefor it it can not be changed (Talking about PQ35, Octavia 1Z).

BTW: Fixed the documentation glitch which claimed a range of 0-255 for the Fabia. ;)

thats cool, just wondered if it was a case of vw/skoda or that yourselves were still working on finding how to do it or not?

Cheers for clearing it up!!

Bump. Can you or can you not change the number of blinks on the comfort turn relay on the Mk2 Octi? I recall newer MY cars with maxidot can do it straight from there, or am I wrong?

The question is how do you change the number of blinks in a MY 05 without maxidot, if it can be done.

Thanks

No offense, but did you actually read the thread?! :)

The answer is no and that applies for newer MYs as well unless you have a facelift model. ;)

I read that, but I thought I remembered being able to alter that from maxidot, which made no sense. Alrighty then, can't be done.
