Remapping other makes?

Remapping VAG turbo engines is clearly quite popular as both petrol and diesel get fairly large performance gains for

The HDI engine, of French origin, is funnily enough not as tweakable as the TDI one... ;) Funny that!

exactly why I didnt bother. I'll stick with its 140BHP

Volvos and SAABs respond well. Focus RS and the TDCIs come up pretty well too.

In fact most turbos (petrol and diesels ) do

Vauxhall 2.0 Turbo (Astra, Zaffy GSi) remaps about + 40-50 bhp

Doing good things with Mercedes Compressors atm

Scooby's remap surprisingly well, especially the MY99 onwards ones which can be chipped by 30-50bhp :D

Smarts can be remapped to 74-82bhp, for a cost of about

What power are stock Smarts, Rob?

There's a 50bhp and a 61bhp engine in the newer 700cc ones, and these can be remapped to 82bhp. The older engines were 600cc, and can be remapped to 74bhp...not sure on original power output though.

Apparently there is a tuner out there who's doing a 100bhp remap, but I'd be a bit dubious of reliability at that sort of increase!

Rob.
