Well it's proven to rust so thats not very good to begin with, iv'e heard the fitting kit isn't so great and the on road performance isnt great, the only positive ive heard is price

Or have i missed something....

Well, it's not that it's a bad bit of kit and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Its just not as good as the Jabba in many ways. The point is you get what you pay for and for a lot of people the whiteline bar is fine. However if you want the best go for the Jabba.

/\ seal's it for me.

Neil, it's nice to see my old car is still going strong and your still enjoying it!

Take it easy mate :)

Chris.

If you could find bushes to fit the thicker bar then i'm sure you could.

Merlin motorsports do ARB Bushes of different sizes. Google them. There on Castlecombe Race Track down the road from me.

Dave

Wonder if the whiteline fitting brackets will fit the Jabba bar?...hmm....

Careful if you try that. You won't have any method for dealing with any differences in arcs between the ARB and the beam/axle/hub.

The Jabba bar allows the bushes to move/flex slightly on the beam. The Whiteline droplinks allow the bar and beam to have slightly different arcs.

Basically, just use whatever comes in the box

  • 2 weeks later...

Fitted mine today... took me 4 hours! Those bloody things around the rear beam are a collosal pain in the **** to get to fit right!

Anyway done it now! Went for a drive pushed it hard around some corners and grips sooo much better now. Bodyroll is still apparant but has been reduced somewhat. Feels a lot more stable and solid to drive now, more planted.

I'd deffo reccomend. Will get pics up later

One question, did you guys use a torque wrench on the shock bolt or just did them up as tight as you could?

What other handling mods have you done, i have recently fitted a seatsport strut brace and this has made an amazing difference to the steering, so much less understeer i couldn't believe it - although many say it makes little difference i thought otherwise, it's my only handling mod so far so i can see exactly how much it has improved the handling, big thumbs up from me

just a whiteline arb and seat strut

arb makes way more difference than brace, brace only kicks in wen on the limit of grip i find.

arb makes for a more solid drive all around

Brace does do something though :)

I cant wait till Friday i should have my Eibachs fitted along with some cupra bushes, no more banging and hopefully a firmer less rolly ride!!

Gonna fit my whiteline rear arb tonight at work to my cupra :) will report back after fitting on how it handles etc :) gonna put it on the medium settings for the first week, then i may put it on hard once i got used to it :)

how does the car feel on stiff?

ive currently got in on medium.

Exactly how responsive is the car after the ARB?

Do you get that go-kart on the road feeling like a mini cooper?

I have a question about the bushes and the u brackets

how tight have you tightened yours? If I do mine really tight the bushes start to deform....

help would be massively appreciated

the bar is solid, as in if I pull it there is NO give in it whatsoever, but the nuts could be tightened a bit more but the bush starts to deform (due to the cut in it)

Medium setting?? Hard setting??

Why are they giving you a choice?

Just stick it on the stiffest one and go for a blast!

I agree completly:D

I have it on the stiffest setting and wouldn't want to it to be less stiff:D

You might on a wet day. Last thing you want is for the back end just to go when you least expect it.

:(

If they start to deform, slack back a bit. As long as there is no movement or play in the bar it's ok. Those clamps are only there to hold the bar in place, there will be very little load going through them

thanks a lot thats put my mind at rest.

p.s. got mine on stiff now, managed to get one rear wheel up earlier :)

Ok I have been reading all of this and I have ordered some whitelines it looks like the jabba probably better but I aint that good a driver that I will tell the difference, but I have a question..... I have ordered whiteline front ARB aswell plus cupra and powerfelx bushes and Konis FSD and Eibach springs, so for all you track day monsters out there what kind of setting should I put them on??????? I was driving a civic type R before and just want to get more of that point onto the roundabout and come out the other side where you want it, unlike now, I come off the roundabout understeering all over the place.

Get the ARB on stiff
