Has anyone considered replacing the foglights of their octavia with a high beam only type unit to give even more light on high beam?

I already have uprated bulbs and dont want to fit additional "spots".(i need more distance)

Any ideas?

Does anyone know of a vehicle that uses the same size projector lens as the octavia foglight in high beam configuration?

Wouldnt there be a legallity issue here though?

Correct, ref height from the ground. If you want more lights fit spotties at correct height and leave those 'designer lights' off until its either foggy or snowy

Ah, but the "fog" lights on the Octavia are in the main lamp cluster, not down low in the bumper. I suspect that they could be classed as "auxiliary driving lamps", so could be used at any time.

I think it will be difficult to find a suitable replacement lens, though - The standard one gives a very low, flat-topped beam; not a lot of use as a spotlight.

:o Of course they are mike! Got the same on our cit C5, Yep in that case prob. ok then, certainly on the height thing. C.J.

What about a set of headlights off of a Classic spec Octavia with out fogs in the main cluster?

But dont all Octs have front fogs and driving lights?

Nope your right, classic doesnt have front fogs.

Although the wiring changes might be a slight headache, as the front fogs turn off via relay when high beam is used.
