Hello All,

Just wondering who would be interested in this, if anyone at all?

Im sure if we get enough figures either Jabba or Awesome would be able to come up with something...

Cheers,

Danny

My clutch is on its way out, but unfortunately it's following my wallet, which has already left.

LOL

it sounds a good idea to me all depends how much.

Interested depending on what you mean by "clutch kit" - clutch, release bearing and fly-wheel?

Also, there are good reports on here from people who have fitted Helix rather than Sachs Racing (Motor Sport) clutches - do you see us having a choice?

the sachs is the cheaper option, you don't need the helix unless you are shooting for more power than just a re map,the sachs will be on top of the job,but with the price of the helix, you may as well get the daddy, the spec:thumbup:

I got a Helix, for peace of mind, and second gear starts. The sharper bite is nice too :)

Could be interested, depending on the sachs limit.

yeah id be interested for sure in the sachs clutch deal

Sachs do a sintered paddle clutch rated to 360 ft lbs ;)

And its cheaper than the organic one

Ta m8. Thats for me then.

I'd be interested in a group buy if it was the Helix one + SMF

My Sachs clutch kit from Jabba is Gr8 Feels just like the OEM clutch but is slightly higher up the pedal. I carnt really fault it, Well worth the money.

I am very interested - even better if some one could do a GB on clutch kit and cam belt replacement!

Purely out of intrest, and for the sake of asking a silly question, would this fit anything other than a VRS? A normal Fabia for example...

I had the sachs organic one in my old ibiza fr, that had full stage 3 allards treatment too and it never slipped once and it didnt get an easy life at all. I think i went to santa pod on several occasions at it just lapped it up no worries.......

Now also seen as i work for sachs ;) i know all the info on the spec of the clutch :D yes the paddle clutch plate is cheaper than the organic one, but irrc its a slightly harsher on/off feel.

As for these SMF options, imho i wouldnt go for it, the dmf is there to reduce vibration from power pulses from the engine and the amount of torque these diesel engines produce. IMHO they do there job very well but if you take the ability to reduce vibration in the drive train by sticking a smf in there then sooner or later that vibrations gonna go somewhere else and destroy something else.......

I also heard a smf on a pd130 ibiza about 3 weeks ago and it sounded horrible on tick over when the clutch wasnt in.

I have a Sachs organic fitted on mine. The bite is slightly harder and the bite point is closer to the beginning of the pedal travel.

IIRC, when a certain technical person (;)) looked into this, it turned out that the organic version was the only real option as the non-organic paddle clutch has a much harder biting point and is more suited to track cars. Driving everyday in traffic would make it very difficult. But unfortunately, the organic one is also more expensive.

Other options include getting the uprated pressure plate which is against the flywheel. I opted for this because it was cheaper than the clutch and as you have to pretty much take the engine out of the fabia to change it, the releative cost compared to the labour charge meant it was worth it.

If you're going for more than just a remap, I'd recommend getting the uprated pressure plate fitted at the same time :)

FYI, I'm now running with around 330-340 ft.lb torque and I have no slippage at all. There's a bit of judder from the dual mass flywheel around 1500rpm if you boot it, but apart from that, it's great. The slightly harder biting makes for very fast yet easy standing starts once it's bedded in and you're used to it.

Highly recommended if you want a moderate to high increase in torque with no slippage yet still have an OEMish feeling (and sounding!) car.

Any prices available on the group buy yet??

I would guess that it would be for the PD130 unit with 6 speed box, oct's, ibiza, leons etc with the same engine and box would be possible but I doubt it would fit in the 5 speed box (I could be wrong).

Possibly interested in one depending on price etc, though I've seen clutch GB's not happening on here before maybe this one might

I would be interested in this. My car is just coming up to 44,000 miles, I have had clutch slip with my map on from about 20,000. I got the AMD One Click Remap a year or so ago.

Have been told by the dealer that my Clutch Peddle is high which is a sign they tell me that the clutch has worn.

How much would we be talking for this, also were would it be fitted.

These any good for the PD150 6 Speed?

If so I'm in.

Price dependant ofc.

Sorry lads, count me out of this GB. I was forced to go my own route due to the state of both clutch and flywheel.

I had the Sachs RE organic clutch-kit (from Jabbasport) for PD130 fitted and a Sachs DMF from a local motor factors, apparently the same one that Audi use, which is probably the same one that Skoda use. Any way it matched up perfectly with the clutch kit and engine.

I'm guessing that is will fit as long as its the PD 6 speed box. only difference is the mapping on the 150 (is it not?)
