First post, so sound the sirens **Newbie alert**

Well, i picked it up a week ago, a 2003 Silver vRS, and already i'm hooked. Well, to be honest i was hooked after the test drive.

Big thankyou to my local dealer, Derek Slack Motors in Middlesbrough, and particularly Mark, the salesman (must have the easiest job in the world, the vRS sells itself). No pressure from them whatsoever and i got the car in less than a week, dont think i could handle waiting any longer.

Anyway, back to the beast in question, its without doubt the best car i've ever owned or driven, and the amount of looks & compliments it gets are amazing (YES its a Skoda !! lol). A self imposed rev limit (4000 max) will apply until at least 1000 miles are on the clock, and then i'll let rip.

I'll be getting an alarm fitted on friday (Clifford, had em on my last 3 cars, unbeatable in my opinion) so i'll sleep a bit easier at night, but i MUST get a Silver Disklock, the old yellow one just isnt right anymore

Its a rare car that makes you smile every time you drive it, but i think this is one of em, and an absoloute bargain price too.

I'm glad i found this site too, loads of useful tips n tricks, hopefully i'll be able to add some of my own if i think of any.

Welcome Geoff I'm sure you'll love you car and no the novelty doesn't wear off. I've done 43K miles in a year in mine and I still have a stupid grin on my face every time I drive it.

I've done 80,000 in mine and I still love it.

Hope you get as much enjoyment out of yours.

Hi welcome to the site Geoff. Glad to see youre enjoying your car , ive had my Silver RS for almost 2 years and still get a buzz from driving it! Still yet to start modding mine , maybe the back end of this year I will start to get myself (and the car) sorted! PS I wonder how many of the folks on here will know youre from Hartlepool just by your username!!!! (its a dead giveaway if youre in the North East!)
