Very well done chaps..... :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I'm liking both attempts.... Only thing i can think is that whoever goes ahead with this project confirm how often the newsletter will be published... monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly.... and also maybe get as much material as possible initially so that you know you've got enough for the first 2 or 3 issues then at least you can work on new material knowing that worst case scenario you've still got something to put in the next issue etc.....

Things i can think of.......

How to's

Forum news

Freedom News

Meets diary

VAG events diary.... VW Festival etc.....

User contributed articles / experiences

General motoring / VAG news

FAQ's

Featured member's Car

An A-Z style column about Skoda cars..... You know like each issue a different letter with various facts / info about Skoda starting with that letter.

I'm assuming this is going to be an e-mail newsletter??? Or is it gonna be an actual printed thing???

Does that all make sense???

Cheers

Dave.

Monthly would be totally unworkable and there would not be the material or the recources to sustain it. Come to that, bi-monthly and even quarterly would be perhaps a little ambitious therefore I think twice yearly is perhaps more realistic, certainly to start off with.

Depends on feedback and content i think, to be honest...

At least with an Email version, converted to PDF, it doesnt cost anything...

Opinions please!

Might be worth moving and starting a new thread in Freedom?

Quarterly is very do-able, considering the number of members/cars we have.

I think WaveyDavey has nailed the format, but I've made some additions:

How to Guides (Tuning, Driving Techniques etc)

Forum news (Current number of members etc)

Freedom News

Meets Spotlight (Info about the regular meets, WSM C&F etc)

VAG Events Diary

User contributed articles / experiences

General motoring / VAG news

FAQ's/Feedback

Featured member's Car

Freedom Member Spotlight

Staff Spotlight

Maybe a Brisky Merchandise Order Form???

Any additions to this? :)

Ok Have read all this with great interest. All excellent ideas.

We are currently awaiting a copy and further correspondence from a skoda forum / magazine with a view to articles pertaining to Briskoda being published.

If memory serves on a 1/4 ly basis

Thus no wish to dampen everyone down but just don't spend too long on it, but do create a 'pool' of articles.

Any magazine publication be it electronic / paper based is very demanding (been there done that) and does tie the 'volunteers' down completely so would suggest that a bi annual would be the best initial starting point, as already commented upon.

It is in the pipeline for a Freedom joining pack etc,.to be out before too long, we just need to finalise a few details and it will then hit the streets etc.

Regards

Personally i think electronic / pdf version would be great...... And also i think either quarterly / 6 monthly.... or just to be different three times a year.

Also Steve..... something else that could be considered with you working at a dealership..... How would you stand on being able to take new models out for a test drive then putting a review in the newsletter????

 or :thumbdwn:

Cheers

Dave.

Hmm...need to know where i stand as far as saying i work at a dealer goes....

John, to be honest i wouldnt hold yoru breath about Skoda Forum, and the SOCGB mag, it doesnt come out that often (when it should) as there is a lot of bickering going on in the club/commitee....

But your call at the end of the day!

Another idea aside John, can Briskoda not be run as an owners club?

Just a thought....

Just a thought....

The only time the SUK are interested in Briskoda is when they're lurking on the site to see how many warranty's they can "expunge" :P

The feedback I've had from SUK regarding questions about the Fabia vRS II, while polite is somewhat condescending at times.

My response was to go directly to Skoda Auto's Official Website and I received a much better response from them :)

Just imagine the possibilities if Skoda worked directly with the Brisky Team :D

sorry about the possible side tracking - I thought we were just talking about a VAG mag, like was posted to begin with - I hadn't realised you had shifted to just thinking of a Brisky-mag.

Ive emailed the Admin on VAGweb, and there up for this too, so it look like we may have a VAG based mag on the horizon!

Need to think of a less inuendo name though....

Yeah thats the next target then is there an Audi forum?

Only other one I could find... the other two Audi Owners clubs are more websites than forums.

VWAudi Forum

:)I know of an organisation that produces a quarterly Skoda magazine! ;)

Yeah and how much trouble does that cause in the commitee (By the way thats hear-say, not known fact!)

Confict of egos i heard but thats unofficial...

Has been discussed several times before on here and with the publishers of Volkswagen Driver magazine (who have published the odd Skoda/SEAT article) and the problem is the initial investment into such a venture.

Lets not forget that VW Driver and Audi Driver magazines used to be 'Volkswagen Audi Car" a few years ago.

Thanks for that, i think the general idea at the mo is to have an online mag though...

:confused:What are you talking about? I'd not heard of these apparant troubles and I'm a committee member myself!

Must be another member who is a bull****ter then

:) Don't know mate, but we all get on rather well to be honest...rather like another cool organisation I know of...I think they call it BriSkoda.

Will this magazine have a Page 3 Stunner in it?

If you can convince the Brisky Ladies to pose for a picture - then you're a braver man than I ;)

:D
