hi everyone it is fuse number 15 which sorts this problem out well it did for me and its a 10amp mini one i now check the wipers are not frozen to the window and also i am going to make sure good screen wash it sued from now on no plain water anymore sory to hear everyone else has had the same problem

Half boiled kettle of water usually sorts mine out. Just boiled to the point where it steams when outside, and it's not too hot too be able to put your hand in it. :) Give all the glass a bit of a dribble and it clears it fine. Not had -10 here yet, but the kettle trick worked well when fully frozen glass at minus 4 or so. :)

Should use COLD water , otherwise the screen can shatter, though I have only witnessed two in ten years or more, it is an expensive de icer, if yours is one of the few

Really should use de icer or scrape

Not teaching my granny to suck eggs but even warm water can shatter cold glass

(and an aside, an electric cable laid over glass when power is applied can shatter the glass ie an electric drill/polisher I have actually done that several times :-( )

thanks for that, i needed just that answer to remind me what fuse it was :)

just had a old fella in saying his wipers dont work. straight onto brisk and this was the first answer that popped up in the search.

bought him the fuse for a grand total of 24p (as he had no cash on him at all) he said he wouldnt have even been able to see the fuse numbers on the board they were so tiny!

brisk to the rescue again

I had exactly the same experience, no wipers but the rear wiper worked instead.

However after a quick search on the forum I found the answer by replacing fuse 15.

Thanks to all.

Mr Mogwye.

I had the same problem last week and was just wondering about something. In my manual and on VRSstu's layout it says no. 15 is a 10A fuse, but in my car it was a 5A. Now i replaced it with a 5A fuse, but i was wondering should i put a 10A fuse in there? Will it provide any extra prevention against the fuse blowing, or just wondering has a past owner put the wrong fuse in by mistake?
