Firefox3 beta3

Featured Replies

Is anyone using the Firefox3 betas?

Ive just switched from 2 to 3 beta3, and altho most the many additions ive installed over the years don't support beta3 yet, i think its looking good, seems faster and slicker.

EDIT, just noticed that it has a built in spelling checker, its underlining some of my words!

2 had the spellchecker ;)

3 should be good. I havn't switched yet as I don't know if they have redone the threading issue.

Been using it since beta1 on and off. Off at the moment :)

Search in the address bar is very handy, new skin is not good wheres the home button gone?, only use adblock so extensions are fine by me (and the devs will release new ones soon enough), from me!

Ive not tried it yet.

Should give it a go really i suppose

I vaguely tested it for half a day but found it annoying.

is there ans english spell checker? the american one is rubbish.i know how to spell colour thank you very much

Not sure about FF3 but you can a UK English dictionary into FF2

Thanks for that, didn't realise. *wanders off to find it*

I'll be interested to see if they can plug some of the memory leaks FFX2 has :)

I know I probably push it, but 700Mb RAM used for 15 tabs seems a touch excessive. Has managed to consume 4hr of CPU time in 6 days too....

Not made the jump yet from 2.0.0.12. but might give it a bash today.

I'm testing it again, and it does seem quicker. Also, I am told that the dreaded memory leak is reduced (can't confirm yet).

Not sure on the back button though, looks like a Skoda badge

Doesn't seem much different to me. I never noticed the memory leak though!!

Memory leaks are a security hole, so all good if they actually get it fixed before they release version 3.
