oh man, I want leather, miltex, FMIC, bigger turbo, this Fabia is a lot of bloody money, ive already spent well over £1000 in it

Should have just bought the Jabbasport car

I beat that, and i bet others can beat me.

This month alone is costing me

500 turbo

450 peloquin

600 fmic

400 remap

100 timing belt bits

50 turbo fitting bits

I think i am addicted to fabia modding. :(

Well i may be a tiny bit dissapointed ;)

you don't have to havea front mount at all, thats just silly talk.

obviously it will help keep the charge temps down but it won't damage anything if you ran the standard intercooler.

really pointless running without a front mount. :P

The heat soak on the with a standard turbo is quite bad on the fabia, the side mount is rubbish.

its a different turbo though, to make 200bhp a stage2 TD turbo isn't working anything like as hard or heating the air as much as the standard turbo making 170bhp so less heatsoak :)

I beg to differ. I run a stage 2 TD hybrid, and have just recieved my custom FMIC off Forge, as the regular FMIC from Forge wasn't keeping it all cool enough, and I'm nowhere near the limit of the turbo.

You don't "need" an FMIC with just a remap, the pikey mod seems to do the trick, but you definately need one for anything more than a remap, I assure you.

The SMIC is ok, just badly placed, nothing a stanley knife and some mesh doesnt help.

i know the feeling,i've gone down the easy route of getting it too,so its cost me more:(

Mine ran at.

1. 180 and never broke :)

2. 215 broke once :(

3. 265 broke twice :(:(

All the cars above 215bhp generally chew Turbos quite quick, can't comment on the new breed of turbos as I gave up with the Fabia.

When my GTRS 35 goes on the Octavia I expect that will break something as well.

Just saving up for the internal work prior to fitting.

Estimated. I think. Based on what other people with the same bits as me have got... :o

Prob cheating as mine is not as VRS but 256 BHP to rise to approx 270 late this year.

Just the standard 130 - right now I don't see the point in shelling out for an increased power figure that would lead to a big insurance hike, clutch wear and other potential issues for the sake of a lot more wheelspin and not being able to put any of the extra power down!

OK I admit I haven't been in a remapped one, but you can't get all the power down in second gear as standard so I don't know how more torque would help. Admittedly you may get more go in the upper rev range, but that's just noisy - I like the relaxed effortless power of the type that would shred the clutch.

god knows what mines is, egtting it roling roaded on the 30th of march so it will be good to find out!

I'm running 152.7bhp at 261lb of torque if that makes sense, the real surprise to me was I bought the car as if it was standard 130bhp, took it to a rolling road two months later and got the biggest suprise of the day and found out what it was packing, it's either been remapped or came out of skoda with that figure.

I'm going to do have some investigation with the last owner

^^^Same here except I got mine Jan '07 with 32 miles on the clock and mine made 154bhp and 290 ft/lbs :D

I really need to get the printout scanned and posted

I've got my printout in the boot of the car I think, really need to stick it up here as well. The thing I can't understand is that the last owner was registered disabled so I can't imagine her tuning the car so I presume it must have come out of the factory like that and the way the dealer spoke about the last owner was that she was old and got a roomster to replace the vRS.

right, no question about it but eventually(depending on how you drive it anywhere between a day and a year) you will destroy the clutch and the gearbox will break(either strip a gear or you'll find you have an explosive diff), if you haven't done it the brakes will be woeful as will the suspension really.

just get the stuff ready and do the 6 speed conversion mate :)
