Me Turbo

Featured Replies

I think that's a bit much myself, but not unreasonable.

Would have thought you could have had new uprated internals in your turbo casing, plus an FMIC and all the work done for similar money.

Still like I said not unreasonable.

Just picked up that car, drives like new, no hissing, no turbo lag excellent!!

One thing, forgot to bring me wallet to work, left it in the wifes car so the nice chap at the garage let me take it home tonight and pay in the morning!!!!

Apparently, got to go back for an oil change in 500 miles, something to do with the warranty on the new turbo?

Anyway, I'm happy now, so here comes Stafford at the weekend!!:party2::banana::dtp:

Going to have lots of beer, before the 4p duty change sunday!!

Ben

Glad all is well

Got the invoice.....

The problem it seems was down to the spindle nut coming adrift and causing the shaft to break.

Items as follows:

Turbo (new KKK unit) - £695.95 ( they went to VW and it was something like £1050)

Intercooler - £195.95

Oil Pipe - £25.51

Exhaust maniflod gasket - £4.65

Oil Filter - £5.35

PD Oil - £27.50

Labour - £159.80

VAT - £195.07

Total - £1,309.78

Took it home yesterday and to work this morning and it's like driving a different car!!

I would advise that people do go for the intercooler clean out that somebody put on here, the chap said that it was just oil in the bottom, (I know that the seals in the turbo going probably made it worse), but my fuel economy is getting back where it should be (50mpg) as I'm not a mad driver.

I was considering the intercooler clean out anyway prior to the break down.

Hope people get their cars fixed ok!

Ben

Does anyone know of the VW part number for the KKK Turbo unit that fits the Fabia ? I am trying to source a Skoda unit but there are none in the country ... my turbo has blown and delaer can';t get one till 7th April !!!! It's under warranty so if I could find a VW unit maybe they would use that !!
