Whilst the Toyota Prius gets away with lower VED than SWMBOs MKII Pd that does 20% more MPG.

Basically UK PLC is broke & our dearly elected ******'s need to raise money any way they can so Im afraid you stand little chance of winning & as they say, things can & will only get worse.

We all get nagged about spending money on credit cards that we havent got, Now our duly elected & so called Inteligent MP's have spend all we have in the bank & are now having to borrow heavily with little hope of quickly paying it back. Still its nice to know the 2.6 million on incapacity benefit, those on the dole are all still Ok & the Poles can claim benefits for their families at home :mad:.

Re my bleet about incapacity OK some deserve it but 2.6 Million, thats around 1 in 25 of the population

Yep fair comment, it just anoys me mainly how foreign cars are excempt as they arent on Swanseas data base, probably prejudices me as there are quite a few Polish ones down south.

Overall I think we should cut back on all the handouts to whoever, we need a lean efficent country to survive with people keen to work.

If you want the dole you do social jobs to get it, sweep the streets, clean off grafiti etc, **** their human rights, what about my rights slaving for hours to try & earn a decent life for my family & they paying a kin fortune in tax so the scum can doss around.

We have probaly 4 million on a combination of Dole & incapacity & yet we can absorb as many migrants as industry can get. To top that many skilled & wealthy are leaving, we are slowly becoming a 3rd world country, to think about 100 years ago we still had the Empire & were genuinly one of the strongest countries in the world. Where will we be in another 100 years

Did anyone else see the progamme about the Polish vegetable pickers in Peterborough? The presenter went around the town asking various dolies if they fancied a job paying £7 an hour, which they were, but then as soon as they were told it was picking butternut squash starting at 6am each day, they weren't interested (and in one case actually returned to swigging his can of Stella... ) Folk like that can't complain about foreign workers "taking their jobs", 'cos they're not prepared to do them in the first place! AIUI, there are more than enough jobs to go round, and apart from people genuinely unable to work as a result of their health, the rest just can't be ar$ed to get out of bed. The worst thing is, I used to go out with a woman who worked as a Welfare Rights Officer, and she was of the opinion that not only were a large number of people on benefits not really deserving of them, but also a lot of people who did deserve them didn't claim them. Just goes to show the wide gulf in morality there is in this country... :thumbdwn:

i agree, personally i would be too embarased and ashamed of claiming any bennefits!

If you cant find any other job then they should be forced into the army coz the pay is good and the army needs people.

National Service !!! bring it back. Look at the countries in europe that still have it. They don't suffer the same problems we do with benefit claimees etc.

And do you know why ? It's because the forces instill's discipline and self reliance. Being in the TA was the best thing I ever did. If the government can't afford to introduce national service, then at least force out a couple of years worth of TA service for school leavers.

Aaah yes the Empire, nothing like invading other countries, killing their citizens and stealing their natural wealth to ensure your position in the world. I have polish relatives and can honestly say that of the huge numbers of poles in my local area, most are very hard working.

For example plastering quotes, English guy wanted £1200 to do some work for a neighbour and 3-4 days. Polish guy came in said £400 and did the same work in a long day (was there when i left at 8am and when I got home at 7pm). Apparently the work was very good and the bloke just worked solidly apart from half hour sat outside to have a drink and his lunch.

My new girlfrend is half polish, and can totally confirm cheezey's experience.

Its not just the poles though is it. As iwork in the construction industry i have noticed a massive knock on effect. The rates have come down quite dramatically aswell.
