I'd get one with a square back end - wouldn't act a ramp for next time

I have to agree with you there!! :o

Whoops! Good on him for realising it's time to give up driving.

Wonder if he decided to give up then squashed the Porsches? It was on the tele this morning. V.Funny as long as they are not yours

Whoopsie!

'It was a miracle I got out alive. But that's it - the end of my driving career, I'm never driving again.

Have to agree this is probably the most sensible thing he could do, At least he realises his abilities are not quite what they were, Even if it took a couple of porkers to make him see the light.

Some of the old drivers about here are more dangerous than the paxo squad!

How the f*ck did he "lose control"!? lol

At that age I'm impressed he had control in the first place!

Seeing those porsche's makes me said...

Imagine going round to the garage to pick your car up and finding it like that!!!

Glad he was ok and seen sense... most elderly people don't "see the light" and give it up while they still can!

Perhaps it was an auto and he got the accelerator instead of the brake... an old woman did that in Bridlington once and when straight into Boyes shop.

Perhaps

ooops

If im still alive when i decide to give up driving , i think i mite do something similar , just to pi55 of a bmw driver

there's an old guy that lives 2 doors from where we used to live, can't drive for shizzle. uses fixed amounts of accelerator(floored) and adjusts his speed with the clutch, he also only changes gear when he gets to the end of the current gear so quite often drives his 1.0 ax (i think thats what it is) up the road in 2nd at 30mph

terrible driver.

Could have been worse, it's only a 964 and a 993  :P

2 997 Turbos would have been a bit more than 60k...

Good reasoned responses from both parties though, which is refreshing to see  - we haven't heard what the owners reactions were though I suppose

Steve

Daft old ****! Reason why old people should have to take a test every year past retirement age!!!!

Same thing happend at a local Asda, old lady in a Golf, accelerated into the wall, made a nice hole, thankfully no injuries.
