It's basically a Golf GTI, but cheaper and faster.

Thats the FR you are reffering to :) (same engine)

The thing with the high end Leon's is that you get alot as standard, such as dual climate and cruise.

Very small boot, much like the Golf.

Hardly small :) ...but being a hatchback, its very practical

;)

Yeah... I was comparing spec (minus engine) really. I see what you mean though.

Interior is slightly low-rent aside from the contact points, superb seats and wheel!

regardless of anything else, it looks lush in white with the black wheels

I have to agree with that comment.

The dash plastics are the worst items. Seats & steering wheel with stereo controls are excellent.

Everybody who has sat in the passenger seat has commented on how nice it feels.

Well on finding out that the cupra has the K04 turbo.... it is defo being added to my list for the next car.

I knew i wanted one the second i saw this thing go.......... chipped or not chipped it went and went well

Its quite easy to put a K04 on the Mk2 vRS too ;)

Is it - You surprise me Tom. :P

... The SE K1 has the same engine but has the aero kit and some other bits and pieces...

By that do you mean the gopping side vents in the front and rear bumpers? I hope SEAT pay you if you have them fitted! Can you get the performance without the bodykit? It looks awful IMHO :thumbdwn:

but it's really crying out for a big turbo :P

I think 330(ish)bhp and lovely drivability combined with reliability sounds perfect tbh ;)

The Aero kit is an option on all models except the K1.

The K1 comes with the Aero kit already fitted.

I like the look of the standard Cupra too!;)

not when there's a bolt on GT3071R kit available :D

As already been said... they are "rated" at 240bhp.. although they dyno around 260, thats even on Awesome's RR. stg1 up to 300ish, stage 2 can be up to 330 :D

Nice looking cars, but the dashboard lets them down in my opinion.

Me thinks I need to take one on a test drive.

I think easy is a stretch, a fair few parts required.

Changing the turbo, although not impossible isnt 'easy'.

What do you know about engines? :haha:

;)

Nowt mate, just a freedom member ;)

Good point - for the masses it might not be "easy", but for those who are handy with a socket set, then its perfectly DIYable... ;)

I've spent the whole afternoon (well a good hour ) looking on various sites at A5, KO4 based cars, such as the Cupra, S3 & Ed30, but none of them are cheap enough, and all have too many shortfalls imho.

Wish they'd do an Octavia vRS-R...

There won't be much change from £4k to add the exhaust, intercooler, k04 turbo and software to the vRS, but that still makes it considerably cheaper than the alternatives imho! :)

I love the looks of the Cupra, great seats etc, but I couldn't live with the dash materials and looks, the ride, and the lack of interior space... :(

Dont forget, injectors, fuel pump, and remote divertor valve ;)
