APR Carbonio cold air intake...anything else?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've recently purchased a 2009 Octavia II with 1.8TSi and 7-speed DSG.

Loving the car, and still learning about its multitude of features :)

Under the hood, the previous owner has had an APR Carbonio cold air intake installed

see here:http://www.goapr.com/products /intake_carbonio_20tsi.html

I'm just wondering if he has had anything else APR-modified (tuning etc).

Is there any way I can tell without taking it to a mechanic?

Thanks

The simplest way is to speak with an APR agent in your country they may be able to identify it from your VIN or you could visit one of them and they would know within minutes of plugging in.

I believe if your car has had APR software on it at some stage then you can have it put back free of charge (+ labour) as it lasts a lifetime.

i think you can toggle between various APR maps using one of the 'stalks'

Yes, if APR's EMCS (Enhanced Modular Chipping System) is installed, it can be set using the cruise control stalk in the car.

(see here: http://goapr.com.au/products/emcs.html)

....but I can't find any instructions for resetting to default, if I have any problems?

I've emailed APR already, just hoping someone on Briskoda might have experience with the system.

Yes I have experience but you have the link to the instructions anyway all you don't have is the PIN for the car if it is mapped already. It's not possible to reset the PIN so the car would have to be flashed again anyway.

However before you go through any of this you really should establish if the car has APR software on or not.

im thinking of putting the carbonio air filter in my 1.8 tsi, does it make any difference in the acceleration response ? also do i need to remap the ecu for it ?
