Hi

I think it will be 35mm more than the standard 4x4 without rough road pack ,So just 20mm more than one with it.

Im not a big advocate of Vauxhalls (even though my brother runs a dealership and we have one ourselves) but the facelift insignia is a good looking car and the country tourer I think looks better than this new Scout.

I reckon you'd get a better deal on an Insignia as Vauxhall will probably be giving them away before too long

Maybe, but in a comparison the Octavia wins in almost every way. It offers more space inside, but is lighter and more economical. Skoda engineering seems to be about a generation ahead of Vauxhall.

I agree with the reasoning here.

Scout tech data in Czech: http://www.auto.cz/s...z-2000-kg-79875

185TDI 0.5s quicker to 100KM/H than the RS :)

That'll be because it sends the drive to the right place then. :)

Even so would be heavier with the extra wheels driven so that seems generous...? With the full spec fit out and the AWD this is going to have to be the most expensive Octavia surely too?

I wouldn't say its unrealistic. Almost any diesel can put out more torque than the front wheels can put down. I can agree with you though that the price tag will be staggering.

I've driven the mk3 Octy diesel VRS and from a standstill it simply overpowers the front tyres.  In the dry.

You sit there for what feels like ages while it trys to get all that power through two small patches of rubber that get light as the large car tries to pull away, weight shifting to the back.

I for one am not surprised that the Scout will be quicker to 60mph.

In the UK, with the weather we have, I'd have the Scout over the VRS any day.

Or an L&K with the same engine and 4x4 :)

Well, I've just seen the Geneva photos of the Scout!  It's been a long wait and it'll be an even longer one as it'll take a facelift to make me like it as much as the Scout II I think I'll regret having sold.

I'd like to be positive and say that the seats look lovely, but the rest is lesson in overstyling for the sake of it.  I had thought I'd change my old allroad for the new Scout, but not if it looks like that.  Whilst I'm sure that it'll be better than the old one in most respects, the aesthetics are a bitter pill to swallow.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the price list and brochure to see if the chrome and (brown!!!?) dashboard trim can be toned down.  At least the wheels are easily changed.

I especially wish I could be more positive for those who have also waited so long for a worthy successor - I just feel like I'm back to Square 1.  Oh well - at least a Rapid Spaceback Scout/Outdoor will be cheaper!

Hormones - Doesn't look so bad there! But the rear valance is truly shocking.

Damn it - I'm yielding...

yes i'm in for one of these i think..looks even better than i was expecting.

Does the Ocatavia Scout model typically depreciate worse than the same spec/engine 4x4 Yeti?

Think its denim blue. Not my cup of tea but suits the Scout

I have to say.....I REALLY like that.

Can defintely see the appeal - Raised ground clearence, Four wheel drive and a bigger boot than the Yeti...

Maybe when its time to change.

Sorry if ive missed it  - when is it coming to the uk or going on the configurator?

Cheers

Don't think the blue colour does it any justice.

Show it in white, with black rails and trim, and the RR package, and it would look mint IMO.

Does anyone know what the previous Octavia Scout prices where in comparison with the vRS?

I'm torn between the two. My lease deal is coming to end of this year. Really for me it comes down to which one depreciates (not drives) fastest!

But if 0-60 times are that critical then why buy either?

I recently found an invoice for an old Audi I had which as default came with real brushed metal mirror caps.  Should have taken them and sold them as I paid £130 to have body coloured ones at build! Madness now I'm older and arguably wiser!

I'd be up for "downgrading" both mirrors and rails on a Scout if you can't spec otherwise.  Its just the thought of leaks or rattles which would put me off. Even happy with primer grey mirror caps - almost anything but silver for me...

I can pretty much bet the two Diesel engines will be the current 1.6 & 2.0 150hp. They won't put the 184 hp engine in it as this is exclusive to the VRS model. The VRS is skoda's 'sport' model with the higher powered unit. Why would they lose this by putting it in the 4x4 clad version. Doesn't make sense. Watch this space.

Umm, maybe in the UK. Otherwise it is clear the 184 engine will be in the Scout.

I'm talking about the grey plastic finish and how it would look with the white car, nothing more.

I appreciate it comes with it automatically...............

Well yeah, but that isn't the RR package since that's only the suspension setup and the underfloor protection. The bits you're talking about can't be ordered on an ordinary Octavia.

Yeah I know, I'm being pedantic... sorry. :)

Hey, no worries.

I genuinely didn't realise that wasn't the RR package.

I wouldn't mate, they've already announced the engines. 150 and 185TDI and 180TSI.
