How's it going ladies and gents.

Always wanted a VRS, could never really afford one when I was younger! The time came for a new car in October of last year, and managed to find myself a nice SE. Here she is on the way home from purchase!20151008_150928_zpsihufecnq.jpg20151008_150915_zpsghdbgbx4.jpg

So car was completely standard, and I planned to keep it that way bar a remap. Noticed when trawling through the Service history that the Cambelt and Water-pump could do with a change - and also that despite having full Skoda Service History, the break fluid had never been changed. So off to Ant at AP Automotive in Telford to get that sorted.

Had time to get to grips with underneath the bonnet, and a nice clean-up a few weeks back. Following needs doing..

*FMIC - Old Intercooler is looking sad, and I'm pretty sure it's leaking.

*Turbo - waiting game with this, got a nice whistle on the go!

*New exhaust - undecided yet..

Along with the other usual goodies, 312mm Breaks, wife's bought me a Bilstein B12 kit for our anniversary - but plans might change yet! Few other things.

Cheers for looking!

So - the alloy that was buckled was constantly leaking tyre pressure - and after my first decent detail of the car, found out that the private dealership I had purchased the car from had done a rather convincing rattle can spray of the alloys.. they were terrible.

So - after a decent look around, got myself a set of Ronals, refurbed and powder-coated in a lovely Anthracite!

Next up was tyres. I had popped 2 Pirelli's on the front and was really impressed with there performance - even in the wet recently.. after much shopping around, found Amazon the cheapest place for these believe it or not, ordered Saturday and they arrived this morning.

Hopefully off to get these fitted tomorrow morning!

Getting crappy MPG and convinced the rear buckled alloy that leaks to 17PSI everyday is to blame..

Operation keep it standard was shattered after a couple weeks trawling through this section on here.. gradually the shopping list increased and more and more goodies are needed.

Next up was popping the grill off to get it painted Satin black.. fancied a go myself - so got the goodies and and am in the process of trialing my skills.20160210_155725_zps07cx5nrm.jpg

Here it is primered - excuse the rough and ready approach of a cardboard box and my basement window spray booth!

Had a coat of Satin black this morning, will see what it's like tomorrow morning.

That's it for now!

Looking forward to seeing those wheels on. I really cannot decide which colour to go with mine.

Phil.

I will get some pictures sorted tomorrow morning.. ran out of time before work this afternoon. They do look lovely on.. They really show up your tyre colour though! With all the salt on the road my tyres were dam near enough white when I got home from the tyre-fitters.. can see myself going through some fair amount of tyre gel lol.

I swear I've seen you around Mid Wales but more towards Oswestry and Shrewsbury

You surely have.. quite often in and around Oswestry shopping or up to something! Scottys cafe usually for a fry-up lol! I'm down in Welshpool so you'll probably cross my path at some point.

I prefer the Weatherspoons breakfast. Can't beat it for price and quality is good. Plus 0.99p for unlimited coffee

Were you in Knighton about mid day yesterday? Saw one come out of Bensons heating past the school, I was 2 cars back on my home from Ludlow

Wasn't me boss! You'll usually find me over that way on a weekend, very rarely in the week.. There are 2 SE's in Ludlow. Spoke to the one lad about his - didn't know a thing about Brisky here.. didn't like his fabia though either so he probably didn't care, lol..

I've seen 2 SEs in this neck of woods, one has a VRS private plate on, other is just the standard 07 plate

Looking good :)

Message Lofty on here regards the height,he's got the Bilsteins and 17 inch alloys,so will give you a good idea of stance ;)

Cheers Kev! I've given him a PM, will be a handy reference.

I popped to Kwikfit to get the tyres popped on. Not sure of his name - I think he's the manager - longer hair.. was brilliant with them.. handled them with great care which I thought was highly professional.. and they did a stellar job!

So this happened today..20160224_114332_zps45fa7du8.jpg

Don't worry - the wife skillfully took the photo.. also got some mats in there which I forgot to pop a photo of.

20160224_161717_zpsar8crek4.jpg

As you can see - they are filthy lol. They were from Awesome GTI, really chuffed with them. They look purple sometimes, but they're blue trim!

Met R1CH360 last night from here on Brisky.. he was sat very nicely on some AP's! So have decided that I will get a set of AP's in the next couple of months. They're not quite the Bilsteins I was hoping for - but finances are going to be tight this year with our second nipper about to arrive!

Aps are a good choice though. Mines got them on and there not that bad.

I've seen loads of reviews on the Facebook page, and a few on here that suggest for the price - they're good.. they will be my first ever set of coilovers as well.. I will see how I get on with them I suppose and go from there!

I'm gonna do my best to get them ordered this next month.. :-)

Compared to some coilovers for not much less there a very good bargain. I'm planning on upgrading in the summer, not because there's anything wrong with them

That's my toss-up really.. just get through for now and then go for the Bilsteins in summer.. or give in now lol.

The KW V1s are only £50 more than the Bilsteins though..

What are you going for?

Well.. a couple of bills we were due to recieve weren't as bad as I was expecting! So I went on a bit of a shopping spree. 20160301_090911_zpsmcfm06nb.jpg

Quickly unwrapped one..

20160301_091305.jpg

Then I went crazy and got this as well..

20160301_092354.jpg

BUT - am I right to be disappointed with the quality of the welds? I know it's all unseen..

20160301_092403.jpg

20160301_092422.jpg

Won't get chance to fit for another fortnight - but nice to get packages. Let me know what you guys think of the welds - my expectations might be a bit high but I'm sure other Millteks I've seen are neater than that?

I think it's because the stainless steel is so clean on the exhaust it's making the welds stand out ;)

Happy days - this is my first car I've ever modded, so it's all new too me :-)

Couple of little updates..

These guys turned up last week.

20160307_151059.jpg

So was time to get the bumper off and replace..

20160307_151045.jpg

It took me the best part of a half hour to get the bumper off - although next time I'm sure it will only take me 5 minutes lol.

20160307_180652.jpg

20160307_180644.jpg

Most importantly - this came..

20160307_180706.jpg

Quickly question for any that knows.. the fog light connection on the passenger side had two connections, one for the fogs, the the other had a weird connection on, and there was a hose loose that went up to the battery Base tray.. I presume I've pulled them apart, is that correct?
