Try a search, I'm sure I have seen a couple of articles about clock spring replacements.
  2. I was using that type of adapter (which work well) the problem seems to be the cars own flimsy usb C ports. The OTG cable moves the load off the usb C port (and incidently puts the memory stick out of sight) I think these little C-ports should have a supporting collar around them.
  3. These little cables we rely so much on can make conectivity a joy or oh! I thought it would make it work. https://www.newnex.com/usb-connector-type-guide.php
  4. Thank you Phutters, I have ordered one, I had been trawling through those pages for ages!
  5. I already have two sticks usb 3's, 32gb and 64gb. I will bear these dual-drive in mind thanks. I was looking at the set up and the usb C port is very light weight in mechanical construction, and seems to allow anything plugged in to rock about as the base area is very small. I will try a 90deg. usb 'C' with a short cable to a usb A 3.0/3.1 adapter, instead of the plug in adapter.
  6. I have been playing a 32gb memory stick in the front Usb C port. Today it tells me there are no user files but if I change to the second Usb C port my music plays I use the same plug in adapter and the spare one works in the same manner. Do you have a proven alternative to using a plug in adapter with these lightweight C-ports

The extent of the nudge varies with your own speed low speed light nudge, high speed firmer nudge ..... .
  8. My comment was to skoda 1982, I always buy the showroom cars that others order then back out of I tend to get a better deal as long as most of the spec suits me. This is the first automatic, dsg, that I have owned (the glass roof I would not have entertained).
  9. Factory fit has to be when you order from Skoda factory not after it arrives in the UK.
  10. As with my Fabia they will cut a "visible" slot in the skirt, in practice I had to get on my hands and knees to see it
  11. I posted the company name in the post before yours. PF Jones 0161 872 4755 fitted a Westphalia towbar. If you get the skoda factory towbar they fit a rear skirt with a closure plate to conceal the towing connections, this was the only reason I was given after extensive enquiries with skoda dealers and their head office. My Kamiq has the towing prefit package but there is nothing to see so I assume it is wiring only
  12. I contacted big towbar fitting company after being told my Fabia Monte Carlo could not be fitted with a towbar. The towbar and wiring kit arrived the following day and the fitter a few days later. Done in a day. The fitter and Westphalia detachable towbar/ball, were organised by 0161 872 4755 Mon - Thu 8:00 - 17:00 Fri 8:00 - 16:30 0  
  13. If I was to do that, they would find me dead in the footwell having been unable to move
  14. I watched a video where the mirror console (two plastic halves) were removed to fit a forward camera. This came as a camera fitted in a similar console but the camera plugged into the remaining fixed portion with a usb plug. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF24HiPdd5w&t=14s
  15. Thank you, probably the last place I would have looked
  16. I cannot locate the OBD port it is not where I expected it, in fact there is only an open letterbox slot. Being old I cannot flex enough to get under the steering wheel, which is where I expected to find it. Anyone have a photo or an accurate location description, please?

    Thank you I will investigate
  18. I sat in my 2021 Kamiq, it recognised my Pixel 3A and indicated I should initiate Android Auto. I could find nothing on the car menu so I opened the Android Auto app on my phone and connected! I was so surprised I phoned everyone from the car.
  19. My 1L Monte was lovely I thoroughly enjoyed driving it but it is an engine that needs revs and a gradual feeding in of the clutch it is after all a "sports car"

I had a nice analogue clock appear once, I have not been able to find it since!
  21. The most basic I ever had was when our (very old) tent gave up the ghost in a thunderstorm, I tied the airbeds over the open back doors of the mini van and we slept in the back. I had to explain to the site owner what had happened but he still asked us to leave. I left him the destroyed tent as a memento
  22. My favourite "camper" was a 2CV I saw at the 3 counties show ground. Fitted with a boot extension, the rear seat removed along with the front passenger seat. It really was (in relative terms) quite spacious and nicely laid out.
  23. I came across this on Amazon this has a switchable Ignition off/Camera off or Ignition off/ parking surveillance, low voltage off. REARMASTER Universal OBD Power Cable for Dash Camera,24 hours Surveillance with mode switch button (mini-usb) (there is also a micro usb version)
