  1. uhh... what 'rear' usb... somewhere in the armrest box/console? don't make me go out in the cold and check
  2. Yep, I get regular disconnections, I wonder if the previous owner wasn't gentle with the usb socket, and maybe that needs replacing. I use high end cables, huawei mate 20 pro. mirrorlink doesn't work at all for god knows what reason
  3. You mean you don't want the matching Alu footrest for £20?... £20.37 14%OFF | STYO Car footrest pedalsl Cover FOR RHD Golf 7 MK7 Seat mk3 AUDII A3 8V S3 2014 -2018 https://a.aliexpress.com/_mL0nWaX
  4. Stupid me.. You dont have to pull arch liners or the bumper to get behind the fog lights... https://youtu.be/kvuFSdDJpLM
  5. So I've been assembling a list of parts for the retrofit, while looking for the multifunction steering wheel buttons to make sure I had a 'view' button, I managed to find a £600 steering wheel (the flat-bottom dsg version that's heated , and including the multifunction buttons with 'view') on ebay, at eur130. offered eur100 and got it!! after paying the post-brexit 20% duty, after currency conversion that's £103. I would have had to pay around £70 just for the view button! happy days so now I get a heated wheel retrofit while I'm at it!
  6. Converted rear lighter socket to dual quick charge usb with switch, following @JR RS example. In fairness, if I had seen @digifish simpler solution, I would have gone for that, but I had already ordered. See the gandalf thread for details of both those options. And yes, I know it needs straightening, but my knuckles are grazed enough for the moment
  7. Excellent, good work.. Have you figured where in the boot it gets mounted?
  8. The Alu pedals and footrest from a golf r mk7 are perfect fit. Takes little time, just soaked the accelerator one in hot water to make the rubber more flexible to squeeze on. My example is RHD Skoda dealer told me there was a skoda option for RHD, quoted me £120 for pedals and footrest, then gave me a set of pedals without footrest for a superb mk2 after waiting weeks... AliExpress 30-something quid including postage and customs taxes which are prepaid upfront, job done. V happy. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLER5ix
  9. MIB is a technical acronym used to describe the unit in your glove box with the memory card slots. It's a system used across the vag group (skoda vw audi seat). This forum has private messaging ability. I'll drop you my number via this forum's private messaging system. You'll know you've got a private message as you'll get a notification up on the top right. Feel free to give me a call and I can talk you through the update slowly and simply and step by step.
  10. Are they all the same? I wonder are the aliexpress ones as good quality or same original parts as from anywhere else?
  11. That big lump you've circled has 3x black plastic twistable things that secure it. you can turn them to drop it down, then I used a rubber mallet to pop ot the boot handle from the inside.
  12. That doesn't seem right to me, that's an antenna for mobile reception. At least in the UK Digital TV (Freeview) Frequencies are in the 470Mhz – 850Mhz range, so the aerial should v cover that band. What you've linked is not marketed as a TV aerial

  14. which part number is your screen?
  15. Oh! Which my years is it possible on? Mine is an Oct 2016 build
  16. The boot closing from button can be programmed with VCP
  17. Yes it's the system that checks for air movement inside the car when it's locked. The advice above is good 🙂
  18. Correct, so there's a closed warning at the top of the dual carriageway (Chicheley roundabout), and for those that continue on, a checkpoint at emberton asks where you're off to. It's possible to cut right at the church and get around the back of town if you know how to get about.
  19. They've ripped up the high Street as the potholes at the pinch point outside the Swan were getting out of hand, so the high Street between the square and souls is closed! I got the plate straight from DVLA, I never buy plates privately. I have a knack for finding interesting ones that noone else has discovered. I put BA53ARD on the 5er..
  20. Legally spaced the rear plate and put it on 19" VRS wheels. Much as the 20s were forged and technically brilliant, the style was a bit marmite. Legally spaced the rear plate and put it on 8j 19" et45 octavia VRS wheels with pirellis. Much as the 20s were forged and technically brilliant, the style was a bit marmite, these are a lot more oem obviously (even though I don't believe technically ever offered on the superb)
  21. Interior monitoring implausible signal. Google would have told you.. 😄
  22. Thanks! Do you happen to know the part numbers?
  23. Like a foam mattress that's delivered vacuum packed, you have to unpack it before it's useable. It's packed so that it's smaller to transport, but not useable while in its packed / compressed state. This is the exact same theory, applied to digital files. Windows has built-in software to "unzip" (unpack) zipped files, just double click on the zip file and it will unpack the contents. A zipped file may contain many packed files inside it.
  24. but aren't they like £126 new? https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/racingline-performance/racingline-performance-r600-hi-flow-turbo-ea888-gen3/
