  1. Thanks for all the info, BilTechnik
  2. I find this really interesting as I have often wondered how they get the gauge needle to stay so steady. Never realised it was relatively complex.
  3. This thread just reminded me of my Talbot Sunbeam that had a moving coil type fuel gauge that would waver about all over the place with braking/acceleration The Fabia has the most steady fuel gauge of any car I've had.
  4. Yes, abs light, engine malfunction light and red brake warning light. Warning buzzer gives three bleeps everytime the engine is started then stays off.
  5. My ABS fuse has been removed for months because of a faulty wheel sensor that I can't be bothered to replace and the fuel gauge behaves exactly the same as before. It's steady as a rock regardless of braking/acceleration or sideways movement.
  6. It's perfectly normal for a new clutch to feel lighter on the pedal. As for the biting point - if it's close to the floor it doesn't sound right. Do you know if they opened up the hydraulics? If they did they might not have bled it properly.
  7. Cars are nowt but grief
  8. Has your sill been welded up, Tom?
  9. Here's a video for the bonnet release lever....
  10. Here's a new hinge with the threaded hole for the inner bolt clearly visible....
  11. No, items 8 and 9 are the hinge to body bolts.
  12. No, the biting point becomes higher with wear.

  14. You just release the clips by levering them. Have a look at this fog light removal video and you'll see how he releases the clips.
  15. Drivers' front... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322410718049?fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda|Model%3AFabia&epid=1074912213&hash=item4b112d2361:g:9b8AAOSwfeZchm55
  16. I believe one of the bolts goes through from the inside.
  17. Washing your car must be a bit of a busman's holiday for you these days, Ryan
  18. You'd have a job coding in something that is purely hydraulic 😛
  19. I don't think I could drive around in something named after a cleaning cloth
  20. And another thing - whatever happened to soft-riding suspension? Most ordinary modern cars seem to have a stiff suspension set-up. I don't care about a bit of body-roll, bring back soft-riding suspension. Also, the interiors on a lot of modern cars are dull & drab.
  21. Doing a lot of writing were you? 😛
