  1. Toyota. But cars are crap in general and are endless money-pits.
  2. I know the rear beam is the same for drum and disc brakes on the MK1 Fabia. The drum brake models have the unused holes for rear calipers.
  3. I always thought that was a good idea but never got round to getting some scrap propshafts to cannibalize
  4. Same here. Escorts, Avengers, Sunbeams, Cortinas, etc. After pulling out the propshaft and draining the oil I used to secure a piece of polythene over the tailshaft end by wrapping string round it to stop as much oil coming out as possible. Sometimes it used to come off in the struggles though
  5. What are those, Ryan?
  6. Yes, the things you described as electronic modules contain motors. The rotary wheel on your headlight switch controls them. The motors move the headlight reflectors to compensate if you have a load in the back of the car and the beams rise too much.
  7. Did both of mine several years ago and found it pretty easy. Had no problem at all with swapping the levelling motors to the new ones. You can't possibly cause any warning bleeps with replacing headlamps. Have you had the beam alignment done? I just marked where the beam was on my old ones & set the new ones to that and it's always passed the MOT and never been flashed by another driver.
  8. Nah, it does 80mph no bother at all. Reckon it would do 100mph flat out, with a following wind
  9. ^ Yeah, love that one too. ''A Skoda? Give over!''
  10. Happy birthday, Ken! John Shuttleworth wrote a song about you....
  11. You go more than 70mph? I wouldn't dream of doing that
  12. Yeah, it's frustrating and depressing. I try not to think about it too much because it brings me down.
  13. That sucks, mate ☹️
  14. Cheers, Ken. They were looking for tumours or issues with the acoustic nerve in the brain but found nothing wrong apart from a couple of benign cysts that have nothing to do with my hearing. I was eventually told by an ENT consultant that there is nothing more they can do if there is damage to the middle ear. I have a sneaking suspicion that SSRI meds caused it as I started having intermittent hearing problems way back when I started meds. I don't know for sure though. Apologies for the thread derail.
  15. I went deaf in my left ear about five years ago. I've had three MRI brain scans to investigate but they don't know what's caused it so I just have to live with it. Hearing aid does nothing to help ☹️
  16. If the holes are not damaged make sure you've got the right bolts. Part number N 90892101
  17. Well it sounds like you've damaged the holes by drilling the bolts out, no?
  18. It doesn't look like it 'blew' as such. It's a common thing for them to simply crack due to age. It's nothing to worry about.
  19. Another Scottish mate I have from Fife calls the Council tip the ''coop.'' Might have spelled it wrong but that's how he pronounces it.
  20. Definitely a new one on me
  21. Do the Scottish call a garden shed a hut? I like it 😁
