  1. Ryan, these bits on your site don't seem to work.... 2. ^ Happens on my mates's Vauxhall Astra. Every time you pull the engine cover off it leaves the rubbers stuck on the posts. It's no problem though, you just pull them off the posts and bung them back on the engine cover.
  3. Well it's up to you. If it was me I'd buy the ebay one. I wouldn't want a non-genuine brand
  4. I don't know if you are in the UK but there is a genuine one on ebay for £19.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184853005255?epid=1748924250&hash=item2b0a1903c7:g:FXkAAOSwXaRgq3DH
  5. As has already been said, the temp gauge can still show normal readings on the dash even though the CTS has drifted out of spec enough to affect running. They are relatively cheap and the same on all Mk1 Fabias (06A 919 501A), so why not just rule it out? If the one you fitted five years ago wasn't genuine it could be defective.
  6. This would be the right one from that website.... https://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/skoda-fabia-1.9-diesel-2005/product/bootkits-511/cv-boot-kit/BK187
  7. J&R is..... https://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/catalogue/drive-shafts-509
  8. Original part number for outer boot kit for 2005 ASZ is 6Q0 498 203 B Item 25 in the list here (scroll to bottom of list).... https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2005-453/4/407-407020/#25
  9. Damn, we've all been there 😞
  10. This video is a VW Golf but it's practically the same. If you look at the video at about 7:40 he said he used heat on the tube to soften the broken plastic piece to get it out....
  11. Great work so far mate!
  12. Hope it's not the same garage that messed up your springs that is going to do the job
  13. So were any of them the right one?
  14. Why not just fit the new switch you have and see if it cures the problem? If that doesn't work it will be either broken wires inside the door bellows or the window motor.
  15. My mate's MK2 Fabia doesn't even have a temp gauge, just a warning light. Seems more and more common with modern cars but I prefer having a gauge.
  16. I'd advise only buying a genuine CTS as some of the pattern ones can be rubbish.
  17. No I meant the Fabia but forgot about there not being separate circuits. However, it does control cold running which can be faulty without anything showing on the 'customer reassurance gauge' 😁
  18. That's incorrect. Temp gauges on modern cars are stabilised to read 'normal' over a wide temp range. The dash gauge reading means nothing. Also, the CTS doesn't only control the temp gauge but has a separate circuit for the ECU. The gauge can still function but the ECU cold-start fuelling side of the sensor can be toast.
  19. A more detailed brake light switch video for the Fabia....
  20. Dipped beam bulb is H7. High beam is H3. You can get them at Halfords or any car shop. Unclip and remove the cover from the back of the light. Pull the connector plug off the back of the bulb. Unclip the spring wire bulb retainer and remove the bulb. The light on the battery side of the car can be tight to access but on some models there is a cover on the battery box that you can slide upwards and remove to gain more room. When fitting new bulb do not touch the glass with your fingers as the oil from your skin can cause early bulb failure.
  21. I left the consoles on when I did mine and instead of cutting the bushes out with a hacksaw I heated the console bush housings with a blow torch and it softened the bush outer plastic shells enough to poke a screwdriver between the bush and housing and lever them out.
