  1. ^ When I was 18 and working at a Ford dealership I was sent to the stores to ask for ''three blue sky hooks''. I argued that there was no such thing but the boss got arsey with me and said they were for fitting car radios and to get my arse there and get them! So I duly went and asked for them. Needless to say, the storeman had a good laugh at my expense
  2. The pedal should sink slightly when the engine is started after the pedal has been pumped up hard. That's normal servo operation. Servo failure gives a rock hard pedal. The only time I've ever seen a servo fail is due to lack of vacuum supply, .i.e. split hose, dodgy non-return valve or failed vacuum pump on diesels. They just don't go wrong, and certainly not from going into a pothole.
  3. Very true 😁
  4. My dad went through the teeth preliminary stuff, and also had to take Warfarin for life. Never had any problems with the Warfarin. I hope the ''Ross Procedure'' doesn't mean that Tech1e is going to do your op
  5. I somehow managed to miss the updates here since last Thursday. Been some fun and games for you, Ryan ☹️ I see you now have the same rear lights as me 😁
  6. Cheers bud
  7. It's only natural to be scared. There was a period a few years ago when I was waiting for MRI brain scans and there was a possibility I might have a brain tumour, so I can relate to the feeling terrified. Thankfully, it turned out that I have two relatively harmless cysts on my brain, and they also discovered that I was born with a chunk of frontal lobe missing - sounds almost comical but was quite a shock! Anyway, everything turned out OK in the end and I'm sure it will for you too. Sending positive vibes your way
  8. You fitted the 'springy thing' yet, Ryan? 😛
  9. Thinking of you mate.
  10. It can't actually give you an electric shock. If you put each hand on both battery terminals you would feel nothing. You can only get a shock off things like spark plug leads when the engine is running.
  11. Yes that extension is fine and will fit that socket set as they are both 1/4'' drive.
  12. That's pretty much it, yes. You will need a long extension on the ratchet to reach the 13mm bolt of the battery holding bracket.
  13. Yes that's right. Push the selector down until you can turn the angled pin upwards to lock the selector. Release the cable springs and then push the selector down again and turn the angled pin back to horizontal.
  14. Ditto. My late dad was a heart transplant patient. The transplant gave him over 20 years of happy & active life he wouldn't have had. Just thought I'd mention it out of interest as I can relate to heart stuff as we went through a lot with him.
  15. Yeah, it's the exact symptoms mine had with a failing ABS wheel sensor.
  16. Not sure if this is the same thing that Wino is pointing out, but I was looking at (replacement) lock barrels yesterday and noticed that these 'hook' bits are handed....
  17. Just to point out that you don't need to touch the locks to do a window regulator.
  18. They are listed as left & right. I don't know what makes them different and perhaps they will swap over but I'm just saying what it says. Item 26.... https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2001-225/8/837-837000/
  19. I don't think so. According to the parts catalogue they are left & right handed.
  20. Must be nice having access to one of those car lifts. Are you a mechanic, Jars?
  21. A lot of it still not working, mate. Sorry 😞
