Is there a brand you recommend? I thought they were all pretty much the same apart from genuine which will probably be an arm and a leg?

Had a heck of a job drilling the pop rivets out of the regulator uprights to get the panel off. The rivets were just spinning with the drill but I got them in the end.

Superfluous post.

Reversing out of the drive this morning, rolled the passenger front window down to see better as it was wet, and bang! Window fell inside the door. Cables all wrapped around the regulator plastic cog where the motor drives it. Two years is all I got out of a full new regulator panel

What spec is your Fabia, Stewart? My Classic never had the door strips.

Deleting fault codes has no effect on how the car runs.

They are stuck on. Removing them can sometimes reveal bubbling/peeling paint.

It was a VW thing at the time, not just Skodas. I guess the idea was to facilitate quicker and easier assembly at the factory as they didn't have to mount many things inside the actual door, like the window regulator mechanism, just bung it all on the panel and mount the panel on the door. I'm not sure what you mean by that. There are more than enough drain holes in the bottom of the doors, unless you're expecting a tsunami or something.

^ We used to have those Dunnes Stores here in England. I once had a job that involved taking the elderly out shopping and I used to take them there. They liked that it had a cafe inside.
