If I remember correctly newer cars do not need high engine temperatures to start regen. They kind of inject the fuel directly into DPF to get the regen temperature up sooner. But first buy some cheap OBD dongle and download VAG DPF app to phone. Gives you a pretty clear picture what is going on with DPF.

Front fog lights have a purpose only and only then, when they are as close to the ground as possible. The idea to give the beam under the fog front rather than through it. The position Kodiaq`s fog lights are located is absolutely useless.

Some wise guy once said that fog lights are good to explore objects you are just going to hit. They create massive light spot just in front of the car. Your eye pupils will shrink due to this and to see whats further in front of you becomes pretty limited.

What is necessary? Porche owners need only a rev counter. But some need more. I would like to have Audi`s virtual cockpit (12 inches), where you can have small speedo and tacho on sides and large map in the middle. And of course fuel and temperature cauges should also be physical (virtually, ofcourse) not some LED stripes. And radio information at the same time. And phonebook. If you commute only from A to B, maybe you do not need all this. But I commute also to C, D, E etc etc. Doing 85 000 kms annually. Annoying and also not very safe to scroll through the menus when driving.

No, SIM is only for creating hotspot area. All the other communication goes through e - SIM. Some delusional mechanic maybe?

WV has two OEM cameras - High and Low. High has extra module that creates these colored lines. Pretty sure they fit only High version to Kodiaq.

AFAIK they stopped map updates for MIB 2,0 for the rest of the world, except Western Europe, somewhere in 2018 - 2019. If you really need one, search other forums, there is a solution modifying one from the BMW maps. But as you are talking about Kodiaq, it has MIB 2,5 and maps are available.

I activated the "eyelashes" always on with VCDS and this turned the rear lights constantly on, when car is running. Seems that cheaper japs has no Auto option for lights, as there are tons of Corollas and Civics, driving around in the night with only DRL-s. No rear lights of course. Pretty dangerous.

Front camera can be connected straight to the fuse box with piggyback connection. Use search, there are several topics on this.

I ordered it as an option. Pretty good thing, if you live in the desert somewhere in Africa. Anywhere else it tends to fail. Too much halogen guys get dazzled. Too many truck drivers in hilly conditions also.

On my previous Superb the SS button just died.

There is no sound from speakers. Just the soundaktor. You can code it with OBD11. Default value is 100%, you can turn it down to 0% or some other level. Not sure about 200% though

The factory kit also includes better engine cooling and a ton of other things. If you are not going to tow 2 ton trailer, go for a aftermarket one from non dealer.

I have only "drivers seat" under the car settings in MIB. Will check tomorrow with obd11 if there is any other options. People tell it could be possible if you have passanger seat with memory option. However, I have memory on both seats but only the drivers one works for comfort entry.
