When you just press it, it only unlocks the hatch and you need to use the handle to release the catch and lift the hatch. A long press and the hatch "pops" open. It took me a long time to find that feature.

Have you tried doing a hard reset by pushing in the power button for five seconds or so and see if it turns on?

What engine?

Could be something simple like water getting into one of the connectors.

I've tried it and it does work.

You're looking for the "driving data" menu, then you can scroll through the various readings until you find "oil temp" If you don't have MFSW, then use the rocker switch on the end of the right stalk to find the "driving data" menu, then use the same switch to scroll.

Check there's power getting to the motor.

Suggest you check all tyres for the correct pressures and then set the TPMS.

If an injector is faulty, why would it sort itself out after a few miles?

MCU = motor control unit, also known as a mechatronics unit in Skoda / VW forums. The MCU and the gearbox use two different oils.

What year is it?

Not typical. Could be a failed glow plug.

It's electric steering.

Do you get the vibration when stationary and revving the engine to 2000-2100 rpm?

Do you have a sunroof, they have been known to cause this type of problem?

Did you have reverse gear?

The smaller engined cars use the DQ200 7 speed DSG box which does not require servicing or oil changes. It's up to the owners if they want to change the oils at regular intervals. I haven't touched mine and its been fault free.
