  1. Micks got it spot on would like to put that the chains do stretch on these engines and can make the engine go out of timing
  2. Can I just say that I’m really happy it didn’t cause any major problems mate, would also like to say that the time wasters who commented on this (roottoot) can apologise to the OP for your copy and pasting rubbish and time wasting and actually probably taking him further away from sorting the problem out
  3. Is his fuel quality still to blame 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 or is it coil pack/wiring related like most people said
  4. Ruined a tasteful car in my opinion, this is the best looking fabia around by far you have just tackyfied yours my friend 👍
  5. So then if his car was running on fumes the best course of action is to check the fuel filter for any build up from the tank in it not worry about water in the fuel it’s nonsense what happens when it’s heavy raining and your air filter is pulling in water ?
  6. Your acting like water in the combustion chamber is a bad thing ? I literally squirt water into the combustion chamber mixed with methanol to allow me to push 2 bar of boost in the Rev limit ….
  7. We are going off tangent here the OP just wants some advice on why his twincharger is missfiring , it has absolutely nothing to do with oil it’s to do with how a combustion engine works it can’t get anymore simple it’s either spark plugs are on the way out or not gapped correctly coil packs or coil pack wiring is on the way out fuel pump & or injectors & or fuel filter is on the way out fuel has absolutely no sway on this issue these cars can and do run on lower octane fuel , different countries I.e turkey & Greece don’t even have 95 octane and still run
  8. A misfire would be logged in the ecu ….
  9. Turns out a Vw caddy van can hold a lot in the back 😂🤣
  10. Hey guys sorry I haven’t posted in a while some exiting things coming in the next month , as some of you may know my factory dq200 has threw its toys out of the pram we all knew it was going to Happen and we all knew it was inevitable… it had standard clutch packs that were fitted from factory in 2012 it had the original mechtronics unit also… all that was different from oem was the stage three tune on it. So I’m doing something crazy and I will be the first person in the world to do it to a fabia I believe . It has been done in cupras and polo’s before, we are taking a dq250 6 speed wet clutch from a 2008 golf mk5 gt and putting it in the fabia if you look at costings then it really is a no brainer full dq250 gearbox with mech unit £300 Kevlar clutch packs £800-900 please welcome our donor (engine included) im thinking of doing something crazy with the engine also 🔥😎 many feedback welcome 🤗
  11. All good options and stuff I will be thinking about think I know why I wasn’t getting the power down , think the 10 year old clutch pack has given up as today , heard a noise like when you have a car that has a manual clutch and you change gears without dropping the clutch , and have now lost gears 1,3,5,7 will either be fitting Kevlar plates or swapping the dq200 for the 6speed dq250 off of the gold mk5 1.4 tsi is there any real benifits for keeping the 7 speed over the 6 speed
  12. Cheers for the reply mate , any recommendations? As some of them are very expensive and all claim to do different stuff
  13. Tell them to have a look at the fan relay could be clicking on and off constantly/defective
  14. Sorry for double posting but the sound doesn’t sound like a knocking it sounds like something trying to open and close unsuccessfully
  15. Have they checked any thermostats/temp gauge is the car getting upto temp really fast maybe the thermostat isn’t opening letting water into the full engine , also might need bleeding
  16. Hi guys/girls just a quick one looking at advice for the suspension set up on my car as since going stage three , setting off the line/low gearing I’m getting a bit of wheel spin/struggling to put the power down/ axel bouncing which in turn is hitting the torque limiter and putting the dsg box into workshop mode/ flashing spanner , I know putting power down is a predominant problem with front wheel drive cars over 200bhp but would like to do all I can to stop this current set up is standard struts on H&K 40 mm lowered springs but want to go coil overs I have semi slick acelera sports tyres on the front which do not handle the best in the wet to be honest compared to rainsports I have a boost by gear add on for the greddy profec boost controller which I haven’t fitted yet which if I set the boosting to say 1.0 bar in first and second it should help me get off the line , willing to strengthen subframe up with additional mounts if required and poly bushing etc , currently have vibratechnics mounts on engine and gearbox which helps a lot but is not enough
  17. You don’t need any of the above to get the full benifit in BHP , as for going to dark side development, we are talking about a petrol engine here … dark side are Diesel engine specialists, anyone in the know on this platform will say the only place to go for performance parts is RTMG a performance specialist based in Greece but has a shop and garage here in the Uk , mine is running 380BHP on standard internals with a hybrid turbocharger and water methanol injection ….
  18. Either an RTMG replacement induction kit with battery relocation kit or , an ITG maxogen
  19. Mick is right with the correct bent spanner which is on eBay it can be done in no time probably even faster for a garage with all impact wrenches and ramp, some non dealer garages just don’t rip customers off so £150 for the job when they probably get the pump & belt at trader prices is a fair deal
  20. The boost hoses from the intercooler are quite close to the road under the bottom plate
  21. I haven’t seen there welding no mate just know they do the kits , I have a Tony banks sports cat to a milltek cat back I think it’s the best way non of this decatting and stuff just becomes a hassle come MOT time
  22. DKU performance do kits to buy that ship worldwide , they do the only 3 inch turbo back system
  23. Looking good mate 👍🔥 need a bigger turbo next start pushing some big power
  24. I do most things on my vrs myself but it’s so much easier on a ramp , I use ashton’s autoworx in oldham I wouldn’t use anyone else on jobs like this as like mickmartin said they try and take the mickey some garages but this one is the best I’ve ever used
