I don’t have kessy I put fuel in but left the keys in the car and it locked itself. Recently I have had the keys in my pocket and the car has locked itself without any input from me. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Anyone else had the problem of the car locking itself whilst the keys are inside the car? It happened to me when filling up with petrol leaving me stranded. I don’t leave the keys in now but occasionally the car will lock itself without any input from me (kessy is not fitted).

Anyone had this fault? When trying to start the engine”key not recognised “ shows on the dashboard? It will only go away when I exit the car and lock and unlock with the remote. The battery in the fob is quite new.

Same happened to me on two visits to the dealership. Everyone knows the software needs updating except the dealer apparently! As you mentioned they couldn’t tell me what work they had actually done. Anyway after the third visit the software was updated and now everything seems fine.

After 3 visits to the dealership to rectify the sos issue it has finally been resolved. Not had the popping sound nor the dialling sos for a week now. The first 2 visits I asked them to update the software to the latest version but they decided to investigate other issues even though everyone knows what the solution is! Anyway the software has been updated and hopefully I can enjoy driving the car.

Does anyone know how to turn lane assist off?

Updated yesterday or so they have told me! Went for a drive today dialled sos twice. Unbelievable!

Hi Varoom thanks for your input. I notice in a different thread that updates can be downloaded via sim but the correct security settings etc have to be in place. Can you tell me how to configure this please? I have contacted my dealer to see what exactly they did to my car yesterday.

So in effect they have done nothing then. I had to wait over a month to book it in. I hope the sos has been resolved. My dashboard display is stuck on the vrs version which I am not happy about. Going out on a journey tomorrow so we will see if it try’s to dial sos.

It went in to resolve the SOS issue. It was happening 4 to 6 times a day. Not sure what MMI is sorry!

Just got my car back after the software update. 2088 I think it is. My dashboard shows the vrs digital dash now but it’s a 1.5 TSI . The normal dials have disappeared. Anyone else had this happen?

Has anyone else seen that there are no longer any free credits on OBD eleven anymore?

I bought an approved Mk4 that had belonged to Skoda UK last August with 9500 on the clock. I had it 2 days and took it on the motorway. Constant rumbling noise, juddering brakes and steering wheel vibration. It had to have front and rear discs replaced plus wheel bearings! Lucky the dealership replaced everything free of charge without complaint. Looks like it may be a common issue.

Mine is dialling sos up to 3 times a day. Went to the dealer the earliest booking was 8/8/22!

That’s what I need to switch off. I hate the intrusive lane assist and have been waiting for obd eleven to give us the option. The acoustic lock and unlock is already available.

Went to the dealership today regarding the software update earliest date they can do it is 8th August because of a backlog. My car is phoning sos at least 3 times a day!

Where does the ota update show on the menu? I have looked but have never seen any. Do they arrive by the built in sim or is it when you connect to Wi-Fi?

The my Skoda app is showing my car as unlocked even though I have checked it. It’s also showing my location fro 5 days ago. Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for that. I usually don’t bother with the e sim even though I paid to renew it a couple of months ago. I usually just use my phone and android auto. Don’t really know what the e sim is for but if I can download updates it must have some use!

If an over the air version becomes available is it done using the e sim or hot spot with android phone?

RRG updated my software late last year but the popping came back a few weeks ago it’s doing it most days then dialling sos. I suppose I will have to take it back in!

Which dealership did you take it to? I live in your area I use RRG

Thanks for that I was able to disconnect the rod but the glove box wouldn’t drop down enough for me to access the fuses. I want to take out the fuse for the infotainment system as it keeps dialling sos!

There is a mention in the manual that says loosen the brake rod of the glove box but no instructions on how to do it. I was fearful of breaking it when I tried to loosen it. It was really secure. I tried to prise it off but gave up.
