Differences in 10'and 12' Superbs
Wile7 replied to Joelliott's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hi Joe. As far as I am aware the cars, until the facelift change in 2013, were identical on spec. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will confirm this for you. Mines an August 2010 and I love it. Dave -
Thanks TLV - Ive been looking into this for a while. On its own, yes, you are right, 15-25bhp ish tops. But with custom exhaust manifolds and exhaust, plus getting the tune back to Cayenne/R36 spec (maybe cams but it's the cost....) combined with a gearbox tuneup, I'm hoping it will be noticeable. Been saving for two years but want to make sure that whatever I do, it's the correct decision so appreciate the feedback. Dave

Yes, I use cargo nets to hold it down tightly otherwise, agreed, a risk in an incident. I'll re check on the fitting with false floor. Thank you. im actually thinking of moving to 18's all round (winter/summer) just to try and keep things simple tyre wise. We shall see..... Dave

I want to do this (remap) on my 3.6 petrol....anyone reading this recommend any tuning firms in the south of the UK (sorry lads, driving over from Switzerland so as much as that Glasgow fella sounds brilliant it's just too far for me.....). Dave
-
Here in Switzerland it's the law to have them on if fitted...hence they are automatically 'on' if your car is fitted with them. If an older car, it's illegal not to drive with at least Drls or sidelights on when on the motorway, and in some cantons (counties) its mandatory on B roads too. Regarding bulb life, my car is three years old to me now (it's a 2010 car) and a Ive not replaced any bulbs at all and I have the drls on all the time. It is a good safety feature in my opinion. Dave

Kopacek After Sales Service Non existent
Wile7 replied to ds1212's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hmmmm.....if it's genuine stainless it should not corrode.....or at least not as quickly as that! Try calling them? They probably do speak English.....hopefully you get it sorted..... -
So...you have a 'Briskoda' forum sticker. Where did you put yours?
Wile7 replied to Wile7's topic in Off Topic Chat
I like that two colour sticker...goes on 'must get' list...... -
Well, I enjoyed it. Good to see it remain at Dunsfold. Refurbished studio and updated format works whilst retaining charm of original warehouse idea. Think MLeB is a good anchor, Harris can drive and Rory is settling in as a normal bloke. Good stuff. Cudos to Harry Metcalfe for lending the Countach and Testarossa. Dave

Will 19x8,5" ET35 fit on a facelift mk2?
Wile7 replied to scootie's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Mine has summer 19s with the tyres GreenlineMatt says. Lowered 40mm. Runs fine BUT will ground out occasionally with full load and four folks on board...bizarrely on the inside of the rear tyres, not the outer. I've posted quite a bit about this....do a search to find more. Dave -
I've had the same problem but run 17's/19's on mine (winter/summer). I have the false floor too which does not help... Ive ended up carrying a spare alloy in the boot....secured in with a cargo net thing. If I need to use the boot area it goes vertical on the side 'Jeep Cherokee' style. Not ideal but, as someone has suggested, I prefer to have a proper spare rather than a plastic bottle of goo that will screw up a decent tyre if all that is required in it is a puncture repair at a specialist... I even toyed with the idea of putting a spare on the roof......Land Rover style Dave.

Mines packed in too. Not sure if it's the motor or switch (fuses ok...) so will test both to see. Frustrating.....

Official seat covers?
Wile7 replied to HopefullyJOllyRoger's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
There are skoda seat 'skins' that come up from time to time - official skoda parts. Superskoda had some a couple of years ago and every so often German or Czech eBay has some. Have you asked the dealers? -
The 6sp DSG is a good unit but it leaves the factory in a very lethargic state of tune. By that, I mean you get up to 'D5' within about 10 seconds.....it needs the tune up that it can have to jiggle the ecu. Mine is lovely mated to the 3.6 and I have the paddles which makes a massive difference. As long as it's regularly serviced (gearbox oil and filter) it should last a while. Not driven the 7sp but have read mixed reviews on the forum..... Dave

These flat bottomed wheels look lovely. So, as a numptie, the Octavia 3 version steering wheels fit straight onto the splines of the Superb MK2 steering wheel column? And if I have all the buttons and paddles it should be a straight swap (air bag module too?). Thanks in advance for the help.... Dave

Tired of Columbus, what about this?
Wile7 replied to LasseTheDude's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I like the Columbus unit, not watching films when I drive so not bothered about screen size - all good. Family have iPads in the back so do their own thing which is fine. I would like DAB and in car wifi though. Regarding sound, I have all the amps, TV tuner and upgrade bits and bobs fitted from new (ordered by first owner). Speakers are total gash though.....need upgrading. Short term fix was to put two-part polyurethane foam in plastic bags in the doors to moot the 'tinny and boomy' sound. Kind of worked but bottom line is I need to upgrade the speakers as the standard units are simply not up to the task sadly. Dave -
We bought some Halfords type things in France (Feu Vert) which bizarrely are designed to fit my wife's Dacia Stepway and the Skoda Superb. On the Dacia, they work fine.... .....on my Superb they whistle like crazy at any speed over 50kmh. Loading and ease of use is great but the noise.....ahhh!! I need to invest in a set of the 'narrow' airstream things from Skoda or Thule I think (unless anyone on here has a solution? I'm thinking of playing with some 3D printing and making some fins or something....). Dave

Easy to do....use a hairdryer to heat the goo behind and they peel off quite easily. There are 'curved' emblems and flat ones. Get the flat ones.... A few threads on here (as highlighted by Del8oy above) to help out. Dave
