  1. You could try the dealer route as I did but they but they held my vehicle to give it a health check and a valet, which I had not requested and was not told about when I booked for Key programming. I had a medical appointment booked so needed to leave within the hour, they listened and curtailed what they were doing so I could leave. They offered me a free valet in recompense. I sent an email to head office suggesting than anything other than requested and booked should be mentioned at the time of booking. This I think they now do. I therefore suggest any local key cutting company's to supply and programme one for you.

  6. I have a 55 plate 1.6 fsi and have replaced 3 coil packs since owning it from 2012, never had to replace spark plugs apart from service recommendations, or injectors. Whenever the check engine warning illuminates I pull over when safe, check fault codes and replace the relevant ignition coil. I have always carried a spare and spark plug just in case as I tow a folding camper to rallies all over the UK. I have put Redex in the fuel when filling up and have no problems with emissions at MOT time. Give it a try or try Depitane. Good luck.
  7. Acquired my 55 plate 1.6 fsi November 2012 so coming up to ten years. Comfortable safe reliable motor always passes the MOT.

  10. I run an extension lead from garage to car to a charger placed onto the upturned battery cover in the space behind the nearside headlight, charger is connected to terminals. the extension lead is visible as it is routed from the wind screen scuttle, so I know to remove it before driving. Works for me.
