  1. My condenser looks totally smashed on the bottom half and my Aircon loses pressure. I've checked (with a UV light) and can't see any leaks but there's a good chance that's where it's leaking. If not it's time to change it anyway because of the state it's in and I'm only wanting to take the bumper off once. I've been looking at doing something behind the grill to protect it, I think there's a cover that clips over the condenser from a Golf but fits. Will try and find one, if not I'll go the mesh route.
  2. I'd yours split too? I'm going to go with the Hella. I think I'll get it ordered. Going to order a condenser as well as my Aircon is losing gas so I'll check it out at the same time. Now any guides on where all the screws are holding the front end?
  3. Serviced the VRS today and while I was under there noticed the front corner of the engine tray was oily, tray off and I'm 90% sure it's from the bottom corner of my intercooler :( There's oil all the way along the front underneath it. Phoned Skoda, they want £280 inc VAT. (plus over £250 ish to fit). I'll probably fit it myself but where's best to buy one from? Euro Car Parts have a Hella listed for £165 (and an unknown brand for £115). Am I likely to get better than the Hella anywhere? Cheers
  4. Think Eddie said about £40. He's about 6 hours away but I usually travel down to Kent reasonably regularly do would drop in on the way down. Just not had a chance yet.
  5. Mine's still sitting in the box it arrived in :( Too busy at the moment to get sorted.
  6. I'm self servicer when I can be bothered. I have a trusted mechanic that would do oil and filters for about a tenner more than I can get the parts for, so always used him but I moved about 450 miles away. I have trust issues with garages so would rather do it myself and know that it's done right. Last time our TT went into Audi for a service and brake fluid change they wanted £700 to replace the master cylinder. Turned out their pressure bleeder was set too high and forcing the fluid out of the seals between cylinder and t reservoir. I cleaned it all up and in normal use there's not a drop of fluid on it. It took about an hour of messing about at the dealer before anyone could even tell me why they wanted to do the work and where it was leaking from.
  7. I've just bought 20 litres from Cardiff Audi. Cheapest I could find without moving from the sofa and got to me in a couple of days
  8. I noticed mine did a little jump earlier when I switched the car off - never knew this was why. Clever.
  9. I told you a week or so ago just to spend £40 on the Kinivo and a couple of bits of wiring and use your phone With the Car Dashroid app and a decent holder you're sorted.
  10. Cheers I'll check it out but sounds like it might not be that useful over here.
  11. Are you just after Bluetooth and have a Stream Mp3 with Aux in? About £40 will get you a Kinivo BTC450, some cable and a couple of fuses for a very discreet BT install with streaming. I've been using it about 3 months now and its ideal.
  12. Keep an eye on this seller on eBay, it's where mine came from. He has loads of clusters, only Octavia one at the moment is non maxidot though http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111719435068&alt=web
  13. This is what I've bought (for my diesel) and I'm told I can swap the face over so it looks the same
  14. EddieNL is your man. He's in Gt Yarmouth. I've got a nice maxi dot pod here to fit to mine when I can get down to see him.
  15. Won't you struggle to find anything decent post 2009 for that money?
  16. I tested mine on the way home from work this morning. Sat nav on showing speed. 1 click up or down 8 times out of 10 equals a 1mph change.
  17. I'll try and remember to take notice of how much it increases by per click. I haven't noticed mine doing anything unusual though. The one thing I do notice is that pressing reset it accelerates very gently back up to speed compared to our T5 van which goes pretty much WOT and drops down a gear or two for some aggressive acceleration.
  18. I like the lottery of not having any idea what mood they'll be in and how much discount they'll give West Glasgow is very reluctant to sell to you and gives no discount, east end Glasgow couldn't be more helpful and give much better discount. As is Medway City estate
  19. Surely you don't need Auto hold on an auto? Or do you because DSG works differently to traditional Auto?
  20. I guess I might feel differently if I'd got to 3 a year. I've done 7k miles since June so I'm looking at 2 a year at the moment. Just put in an order for all the bits including all filters as it'll be the first time on this car - always interesting to see the state of the air filter.
  21. The radio might have always been drawing power but you might not have noticed it until now. A slightly more tired battery and colder weather could have shown up the problem. I'd try unplugging the radio and see if you still have the problem (or pull the fuse etc).
  22. I'd possibly disagree with this. If it's a keeper I'd stick to fixed 10k intervals for oil changes. We've got a car each and a van, all have the option of longlife but all get oil & filter done at 10k. The rest can be left to longer intervals, but I like fresh oil. It doesn't cost that much more in the long run. If I had something I was only keeping for a year or two I'd worry less and leave it on variable.
  23. Thanks Paul, I'll check that thread out. I had a very quick look today and it looked 50/50 as to whether it would be possible without taking it all apart - shame! I've just ordered a UV torch as a first effort to look for leaks, if I don't find anything I'll take it to a specialist to try and find it and then I'll probably do the work myself.
