  1. I currently store my winter wheels like this were stored for over a year before recently went on they're absolutely fine
  2. https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/darkside-2-0-tdi-round-port-common-rail-egr-blanking-kit.html also https://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/darkside-2-0-tdi-common-rail-egr-delete-race-pipe-and-egr-cooler-delete.html
  3. then I would be looking at the master SC and CSC first could require bleeding if sticking. ceck for fluid leaks especially on top of the gearbox is it a 5 speed?
  4. ok so yeah you're in the ball park for either with that kind of usage, is the clutch slipping or are you getting any noise? basically what I'm getting at is why are you wanting to change it? no, sorry, but I'm sure if the reviews are good they will be fine. my local indy quoted 300 for the clutch and about the same again for the dual mass including slave, If I were going to change the clutch on that milage and type of driving (assuming there's reason to) Id do them all at the same time. FYI - CR= common rail. referring to the type of engine you have
  5. Yes you can ask them to check the condition of the DMF when replacing the clutch. out of interest what mileage is it on and what kind of driving do you do ? I too used to be on ukpassats many moons ago, they can depending on what engine you have for instance mine being 2.0 would not advise a single mass replacement but the 1.6 you have is fine for this conversion. single mass are more reliable (less moving parts) than a dual.
  6. noticed you're talking about an Octavia but have posted in the Yeti forum. except for a few months build period, a dual mass flywheel was fitted to the CR, it is now convertible to a solid flywheel. This is now considered to be the preferred repair from Skoda. however if it's just the clutch that needs replacing just do that unless you think the dmf is on the way out too. the reason they say change both is normally when replacing the dmf as you have to take the clutch out first anyway
  7. nice casual ride out yesterday, testing out the new saddle, need to get the position dialled in but for a first ride very comfortable. watch was on pause for about 3 miles took inspiration from @olduns and stopped off for a coffee half way
  8. nice work where are they located or just search in PS store? I really enjoyed horizon I've been wanting to play subnautica, I've not heard of the rest
  9. why do you want to over inflate the tyres ?
  10. you'll be better in the petrol with that mileage and unless your nailing everywhere fuel consumption on these is quite modest maybe around the 35 mark for mixed driving. put simply yes diesels are for miles. They don't like short journeys which can lead to issues with various components which can be quite costly. personally I wouldn't even considers a diesel at anything less than 20K miles a year
  11. good work. you need some merino wool socks (double layer/anti blister) keep your feet super warm
  12. decided to get a new saddle as I've noticed after around the 16 mile mark I get a bit of a numb arse if doing a lot of sitting. so after reading lots of good reviews changed to the ergon sm pro, saved some weight too 😂 titanium alloy rails so no rusting
  13. how can this be fitted in FL mk2 Octavia ?
  14. this should have been posted in the mk2 forum but to answer your question the SD card on the bolero system just clicks in and out, push it in until it clicks or stops, it will pop back a couple of mm to settle in position and likewise to remove push in and pull out (should be easy and nor force required) as long as you actually have Bluetooth (check under drivers seat) it might be a case of needing to be coded, if aftermarket fitment.
  15. nice ride out today with the weather being In double figures, unfortunately it would appear my heart rate monitor strap for my watch has broken after 8 years so my data was limited, so looks like I'm gon have to get a new one. but still had a good 14mile ride today ..can't wait to get back to some trails like Cannock and Wales also had a cheeky beer in the sun !!!
  16. I got an email from super skoda the other day saying the are not shipping to the uk or processing new uk orders - as I said hopefully this is not permanent as there is some stuff I'd like from them and it appears no one else does it
  17. Garry, with the daughter nina? yeah I think he lived around the corner from me. hope he's doing well
  18. a number of companies I've spoken to recently including super skoda are saying they're not shipping to the UK. whether this is permanent remains to be seen
  19. you the same birtles that lived in chilwell ?
  20. there's a battery in the alarm module that has probably failed and needs to be replaced
  21. I can second, mines done it too occasionally think maybe 4 times in as many years
  22. you checked your battery.. if it starts then cuts out could be the immobiliser kicking in and not recognising the key
  23. update includes a revised fuel injection pattern, meaning that the number of injections, as well as the timing of those injections are changed, which results in an improved burning process in the engine. The software update also increases the affected vehicles’ Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) rate, which results in lower nitrogen oxides (NOx) production. increased EGR rate would go along the lines of more soot build up and therefore increased regens Whilst i'm not 100% on Dpf regen I believe this can be either triggered by the soot level building up to a predetermined level or reaching X miles since the last active regen I say typically as most people won’t be checking on VCDS/ VAG DPF but pre-fix most people report 300-500 miles, post fix around the 200 mark this will obviously also vary with driving style, mine for instance is like clockwork at 400ish miles this is pre and post map too for the Op could also be a pressure sensor starting to not read correctly. having a look at the Dpf in software could help diagnose issues
  24. repeated short journeys in cars with DPf's are not advised, this blocks / fills the filter quicker and if it's not able to complete a regen often this will soon show up with codes and you'll be looking at chem clean or replacement (removing your DPf is a MOT failure). If you car has not had the Skoda 'fix' typically regens are at around 350-400 miles maybe make a note of this and take the car for a blast around this figure - get the car up to temp then sit for about 3 miles over 2.5K revs this should allow it complete the cycle
