Sometimes the TPMS seems to get upset for no apparent reason and repeatedly give a warning when all the pressures are ok; this warning doesn't point to a particular wheel . We've had four recent-ish SEATs and Skodas and they've all done it occassionally, often soon after fitting new tyres. The system does work though, we've also had genuine warnings that correctly identified tyres with low pressure. Keep resetting and it gets the message eventually.

I'm another satisfied Carista user; I've used it for brake pad changes and coding tweaks on a couple of cars. It cost £30 for the dongle last autumn which included a month's subscription to the full app and was the cheapest option at the time.

It all sounds normal; the first front assist warning will be uncomfortably close at higher speeds, I rarely see it. It uses the same radar sensor as ACC so if that works, so does front assist. You can activate/deactivate the manouevre braking in the Parking and Manouevring menu, I think white is on so perhaps you have it deactivated by default.

You can haggle on the buy back figure, and buying would save you the excess mileage and any damage charges

I expect your car is coming up to 12 months old, at which point it will be due a service on a time rather than mileage basis. While delaying this almost certainly won't harm the car, it probably is worth your while getting it done to maintain a full service history. Perhaps a local dealer could collect the car to minimise the risk to you.

Check the brake discs, especially the rears, aren't rusty in the region where the pads make contact, inside and out. They easily get so bad that normal braking won't clean them up then the rusty discs wear the pads out prematurely.

Try setting ACC to Eco in the Individual drive mode settings, it backs off much sooner then and rarely needs to brake.

Yep, it's a simple as that with solid discs, you might well have to remove the carrier if you have vented discs. The only trouble I had was that one of the discs took some persuading to come off the hub, turned a 20 minute job into 30 while penetrating oil did its job,

You do have to push the pistons back after putting the EPB into service mode. It's a straight push, no need to wind them back. The video shows TRW calipers on the Audi, it's quite a bit easier with the ATE calipers on the Superb - no need to remove the carrier for a start.

@FyllCeeFront Assist does seem to be working - the 'you're too close to the car in front' indicator you've seen is the first level of warning and proves your radar sensor is working - level two is a chime and message 'Apply the Brake!'; level three is an automatic brake application which can be late and very harsh. Your experiments with the box will have triggered the automatic braking for low speed manouevres that uses the parking sensors and works up to 8km/h, the radar sensor won't see a stationary box.

No, I never did. In fact, I replaced the car a few weeks later for another Superb which, I'm pleased to say, is totally rattle free to this day.

It's as easy as this job can be. You have to use a diagnostic tool to retract the electric park brake motor, I used Carista, but no other special tools are needed; the disc comes out without needing to remove the caliper bracket and you push the piston straight in, no need to turn it. The hardest part for me was separating the rusty disc from the hub.

Mine had rusted before the car was delivered new to me. If I'd done some heavy braking then and got the discs properly cleared, they would have lasted normally.

300mm is correct, I bought these https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/brembo-brake-disc-10444224A which haven't rusted despite only occassional use through the winter. The outer side of one of the original discs rusted badly and wore the corresponding pad out prematurely, so I'd agree that the OE discs are rubbish.

I have a similar sloping driveway to reverse up and my DSG does the same as yours, let's hope it's normal

Oh yes, drove me mad too in my first Superb. I eventually discovered that it was the rearmost section of the cover (the bit with the handhold) flapping about - fixed by carefully bending the crossbar piece into a very slight arch shape.

I can connect mine (2018MY) to wi-fi but I don't think this is possible with a 2016 car, in fact I'm not sure you'll be able to use Skoda Connect at all. Try @JR RS's trick to connect though.

@JR RS @Cliff_K Do you have the built-in emergency call system? I do, but if you don't, this would explain why you have to plug your phones in but I don't.

As I understand it, the Skoda Connect app doesn't connect directly to the car; the car sends data to a server and the app reads it from there.
