Octavia 2014 Infortaiment unit upgrade
You can update to a newer mib unit. I see you don't have a gps. You can add a module with a fakra plug and be good to go. I don't recommend android units as the call quality is crap. Ask @pab567 to fix you up good, many of us have done it with his cooperation

What to do for - Carplay Support & Upgraded Audio
Hello, you can fit a puzu amp. They have the mib dedicated harness. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EGwe2hJ For carplay, you may need to change the glovebox unit and usb port.

Seeking Advice on Upgrading Infotainment System for Skoda Octavia Elegance
Believe me you will return it. They mention dab but there is no tuner. You will need a usb tuner and a fakra to dma to connect the car dab antenna to the usb tuner to tje unit. You can also use another fakra to sma to connect the car gps antenna to the unit which is better than the provided GPS antenna.

Seeking Advice on Upgrading Infotainment System for Skoda Octavia Elegance
Stay away from those devices. I have been very active on a thread here on the ebilaen unit. I tried to tame it for almost 6 months. The unit itself runs Very well but : - phone call quality is really bad, people don't hear you when the car is moving. I had to put a noise cancelling mic - android auto is emulated. The apps run good but forget the voice recognition. It doesn't work at all - you will loose almost all the car settings options and all the car error codes -the usb port will not work unless you splice and repin the power wires on the other hand, apps work great, gps, dab.... Better go for a mib 2 it is what I ended doing

Sat Nav issues on Octavia VRS estate
The firmware is the "software" that manages the unit. It is hard codded in it and can be upgraded to solve issues
-
Sat Nav issues on Octavia VRS estate
I would personally try 2 things. Firmware update And maybe erase and redo the map SD card

Sat Nav issues on Octavia VRS estate
Maybe like @PetrolDaveit needs time to settle. Otherwise, contact @pab567 to provide you with the latest firmware.

Sat Nav issues on Octavia VRS estate

Sat Nav issues on Octavia VRS estate
Yes it is different, rebooting will just restart it. Factory reset will bring it back to the original state and errase all your settings and the eventual cache files. Go through the menus, you will see the option somewhere. Sorry but I can't check where it is in my car before tomorrow

Sat Nav issues on Octavia VRS estate
Nope, never happened. Have you tried factory resetting it?

Cigarette Boot Socket
Reverse camera should be connected to the reverse light. Easiest way is get one with an iso harness, it will connect to the infotainment and power out from there. I connected mine to the dashcam hardwire which is on the rear wiper Fuse

radio change
Then go for the full standard swap. You keep everything stock, add the wireless dongle (between 30 and 60 euros) and you are good to go Pab on the forum will fix you up good
-
radio change
Fort that price, i would go for a official swap then add a wireless dongle. It is what i did in my car. You keep all the stock functions 2013 is it mk3 model?
-
radio change
Your profile says 2018 vrs, i assume you must have an amundsen or a Colombus. So you have the app button?
-
radio change
What is the original head unit? Does it manage wired android auto/carplay?
-
radio change
French Kenwood website makes no mention of car info on the head unit The link you sent says that what the canbus can manage then gives a list of units. Some units manage car info and some don't.
-
radio change
Yes, They must have listed it to say that it can give you steering wheel control and maybe factory mic. What they did not mention is that the head unit has to have a menu for the car infos. It is a marketing scam
-
radio change
Dis the Kenwood have a menu to display car info? This canbus will just relay the info, not create a new menu in the head unit. Therefore it will give you steering wheel control
-
Dashcam install
I personnaly would leave the ingniton Fuse alone. Don't tamper with anything that has to do with the car running. Plug yourself on the cigarette lighter Fuse instead, it is permanent. If you want After ignition then go for the rear wiper Fuse (what I did)

Probably the Best Car I Have Ever Had
Totally agree. All it needs is better sound proofing and it would just be perfect
