I thought the same, wasted money on android units then went for the mib update. Worth every penny. You keep all the car features, oddly minus footwell light management. But all the reste is heer plus AA and CP. Most important good phone call quality. On the android units, phone calls are impossible because it is so bad

I use a Bluetooth odbê scanner on my Android phone that works. Most of these Android head units do not allow you to use the Bluetooth odb2 reader on theme.

Ok, do first things first, the Android head unit is a bad route to take. I have been there and back. The canbus module they provide will give you limited actions. Basically it will display parking sensors, reverse cam, let you choose the driving mode (and sometimes display it on the screens), let you retain steering wheel control and.... That is about it. You will not have any car diag reading. I tried several units from different brands and they all work the same way.

This should not happen, the sound should go through Bluetooth and not the usb. At least that is how android auto works.

Os it the carlinkit 5.0? Normally you should connect to the dongle Bluetooth, it will then switch to the car Bluetooth and activate a WiFi link between the phone nd the dongle. I think the connection is in 5ghz so check that your phones supports it. Also check if you need to enter a password for the WiFi.

Look at remus or fox exhausts, they have adaptable mufflers or full custom exhausts

Ha ha yes. Setup is really easy. Plug it in the usb socket When the light turns blue, search for the Bluetooth unit and connect. It will then activate the wifi on your phone and switch the bt to the car The WiFi sort of replaces the usb cord. Once this is done, the new connections will be automatic. I highly suggest doing an update before first use. All the steps are described in the leaflet in the box

Oh man, you should have read different threads on android head units. For the reverse radars, you have to set the canbus for vag vehicles in the settings of the head unit. For what you will be messing... Horrible phone call quality Very limited car settings No error message will be displayed Hit and miss on displaying drive mods. You will not hear the GPS instructions if you are listening to the dab, musique from the sd card or streaming (you have to install a tts app and set is as gps for that) Carplay and aa work but try talking to it, it will not recognise anything you say If you can live with this then the functionalities can get quite interesting

Infotainment is only good for dab. The maps aren't updated anymore so AA is the way to go. Get a wireless dongle to avoid your phone getting hot with the lousy 10w usb port. As HappySam said, you can unlock the sd card check and use any card for the maps

The vin is the car serial number. You can see it on the car papers
