Offroad button placement.
I don’t think all 4x4 Karoqs have the off-road button. My 2.0 TSI DSG Sportline doesn’t have that button. The closest “thing” is the Snow mode option. Is Off-road part of the Performance Pack?

Anyone running on CrossClimate 2 225/50R18 MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE 2 SUV ?
@logiclee are the ECO Bridgestones the same as the Duellers, which I have on my Karoq? Just curious as, so far, I’ve not had any wheel spin or traction control cutting in with my Karoq - which I was expecting with the 2.0 TSI as my 2.0 TDI Touran would do that on brisk pull aways. Another thought regards ride quality, my Touran had the multi link rear suspension, similar if not identical to my Karoq- do all Karoqs have multi link rear suspension or do some have the beam axle set up as that might affect ride quality.

Anyone running on CrossClimate 2 225/50R18 MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE 2 SUV ?
I had Cross Climate 1s and 2s, on my previous car, didn't notice a difference, although perhaps in hindsight the CC2s might have worn quicker, but theres so many variables with wear rate (road surfaces, tracking , load to say nothing of driving style and roundabouts). 30,000 miles from the CC1s 22,000 from the CC2s which is not in the same league as the Michelin Premacys that were on it from new (50,000 miles) Had Goodyear1 Vector All Seasons on the a previous car and they were excellent in 3-4 inches of snow, and the wet. Brother has Goodyear All Seasons on his Yeti. I'll be switching to All Season as soon as th eoriginal Bridgestone Dueller's get down to 3mm or I discover the limitations.

Skoda Digital Certificate
- Dash Lights - Help Appreciated
The ASC and ABS lights I have had come on for an ABS wheel sensor failure.- Lane Assist & Traffic Sign Recognition
Have you signed up to Skoda Connect? One of the features is the ability to download a Digital Certificate. This gives the precise specification of the vehicle along with the recorded service history. So for my Sept 23 registered Sportline, I get the production year - this is important as 2023 Sportlines didnt include Lane Assist or TSR. It also shows the 'lifeline of my Karoq starting in 05/2023 - somewhere I found the actual build date but I can't remember where it was recorded but I know it was May 2023, confirmed by the certificate. In the Service plan section it shows the date of the PDI and any services in this case my car was serviced in March 2024 just before I bought it (used) from a Skoda Dealer. This might help you determine if your Karoq should have Lane Assist and TSR. I test drove a couple of 24 reg demo Sportlines in early April 2024, and they had TSR and Lane Assist.- Power Steering is rather stiff
Good that you've found an improvement. I was a little surprised that the steering seemed heavy at slow speeds as I find mine is very light, being able to 'palm' the steering very quickly from lock to lock with virtually zero effort, hence my questions.- Struggling to locate/contact a specific dealership
Update. Contacted Skoda Customer Care. The case handler tried very hard but kept hitting brick walls. I asked them to escalate to their manager and after contacting both my local Skoda dealer and the dealer I bought the car from, Skoda UK authorised the warranty claim. So although it took a while a successful outcome in the end.- Power Steering is rather stiff
Possibly silly questions, but has the steering recently become heavier, are your tyre pressures too low, has the tracking or suspension been damaged?- GardX/G3 paint and interior protection
I've been offered these sort's of 'add-ons' on new and ex demo cars many times over the years; Exterior Protection, Interior Upholstery Protection, Alloy Wheel Insurance, Gap insurance. This is where the dealers make their money on a car sale because there is intense competition through online websites for the actual vehicle price. If you are buying through PCP and intend handing the car back at the end of the contract and getting another new car on PCP the dealers like taking back vehicles with these 'insurances' on them because they can get the car prepped for resale on their forecourt by claiming on these insurances at zero cost to them, in fact they actually make money because they 'invoice the insurer for the work they needed to do. When trading in a car against a new one I've been told if I'd had these insurances they trade in would have been higher, but not by the amount I'd have had to fork out for the insurances though. Prior to my Karoq I had a pre-reg VW Touran which had 27 miles on the odometer, instead of paying £400 for exterior protection and £300 for interior protection, I spent £100 on Autoglym products, clay bar, resin polish and HD Wax, Upholstery Cleaner and Vinyl Cleaner/Polish. If you have the time,, one weekend in spring and one weekend in Autumn was all it needed and the products lasted 6 years, before |\I needed to buy more. Find a good detailer and save yourself some time and money!- Karoq Panoramic Roof leaking
Based on @jasongs PDF I had a look at the drains on my 2023 Karoq Sportline today. Its a June 2023 build date and it looks as though changes have been made which might prevent the rear drains from getting blocked.. This is the Offside rear drain, as you can see the red plastic cap is not present. I very gently pushed my drain cleaner rod up to check. I stopped as soon as I encountered resistance, which I suspect was a joint in the pipe. This photo has been taken lying under the rear of the car looking towards the offside, the wheel arch liner is visible lower left, I didn't have to remove any part of the wheel arch or bumper. Very easy to see and check. The nearside rear though was different. There is a shiny black plastic cover preventing access to the area where the drain is located. By removing 3 screws at the bottom of the wheel arch liner that held the liner to the black plastic cover I was able to get my hand in and feel the drain,, it too did not have the red cap and it was clear. It was much harder to take this photo than actaully check the the drain! This photo is taken lying under the car looking towards the nearside rear corner, the black plastic cover is visible behind the nearside exhaust outlet The drain is behind the cover where the yellow sticker is, and the 3 screws to remove are along the edge below the yellow sticker. I was surprised that the offside didn't have a black plastic cover like the nearside. As I had a towbar fitted in August the bumper would have been removed perhaps that cover didn't get refitted, I will have to check with the company that fitted the towbar.- Can I add Lane Assist?
It says its switched on in the Infotainment screen setup, but until it does something its impossible to know. I try my best to drive well, but I know I've had to deviate out of lane to avoid objects and potholes and it hasn't always been possible to signal. I will have to try and provoke it into action. Mind you most of the local dual carriageway roads I drive on the centre lines are virtually invisible.- Can I add Lane Assist?
I would suggest speaking to one of the Retrofit companies. Hazzydayz in Markyate (J9 M1) are very good, if it’s possible they will know how to it. There are different cameras, front assist I believe is radar based, I have land assist which uses the camera, in 3000 miles it’s never done anything, I dont believe I have never got close to a lane white line! I dont know if it’s any good. The camera spec you need is QK1 there are different spec cameras.- Poor Fuel Consumption
Trying premium fuel is not solving the problem, and unlikely to make any difference. If the engine seems down in power that would probably be the reason for poor fuel consumption. ootoheres comment about tyre pressures is very pertinent. I found the ECO pressures improved mpg by around 4 mpg, with autumn lower temperatures the pressures could easily have dropped by 5-10 psi. Our 2015 1.2 TSI DSG does 45mpg on 3-5 mile journeys, on very rare long 70 mph motorway journeys it goes 55mpg. With 110bhp it’s a quick car, but it always has Shell V Power petrol.- Skoda SIM required for wireless Apple CarPlay?
For what its worth - some images of the various screens after setup. You caan see that the Iphone remains on 5G, there is no WIFI network in use, and seemingly no Bluetooth in use either. I think that Bluetooth is used initially to establish a connection which then switches to a direct or private wireless connection - which is not the same as a WIFI network connection. Menu Screen Telephone Screen, showing Apple Carplay is the 'Phone' choice. selecting the Connect Via Bluetooth swicthes to the Skoda built in Phone feature. Touch the CarPlay Icon on the above takes you to Carplay. This is my Iphone Settings page, no WIFI but Bluetooth is on. This is the Bluetooth page, nothing actually connected via bluetooth. Iphone screen making a call via Carplay Carplay Screen on the Infortaiment Centre- Skoda SIM required for wireless Apple CarPlay?
Something else I’ve just remembered. On the menu screen selecting telephone displays a screen which says the phone is via CarPlay and gives the option for Bluetooth. I leave it on CarPlay but I guess if it’s Bluetooth you d need to select CarPlay.- Skoda Fabia 2016-2017 questions
At that mileage it has to be very cheap to be worth considering. A few thoughts 195000 miles in 7.5 years is 25,000 per year. Not unreasonable I’ve had 3 cars that I’ve taken to 150,000 miles on annual mileages of 25k to 30k. Servicing will maintain normal wear and tear items, but it’s the other things: seat fabrics and support, carpets, wheel bearings, suspension bushes, gearbox oil, clutch, electric windows. At 195,000 the engine and transmission must be close to end of life. If the bodywork is really good and the price is low enough, it could be a bargain if you are prepared for fitting a lower mileage engine and from a crashed car in when something terminal happens to the engine. Good luck. I- Skoda SIM required for wireless Apple CarPlay?
I was trying to find the actual screens and setup whilst sitting outside my house just now. On my Iphone I switched on WIFI connected to 'My Skoda 9345' and no internet access as I expected, then the phone picked up the house WIFI and connected at which point Carplay in the Karoq lost the connection. Spent 10 minutes trying to recover and failed, Decided to go back to square 1, Delete the Iphone from the Karoq, deleted 'My Skoda 9345' from the Bluetooth and WIFI of the Iphone. This is what I did to reconnect without using Skoda inbuilt WIFI. Touch the MENU button, select Mirrorlink/Smartlink, touch Mobile Devices to do a search, which should detect the Iphone, and display a code. On the Iphone select Bluetooth from Settings and the code should be displayed, they should then PAIR. When APP is selected Carplay screen displays the Iphone Icons with 5G not WIFI, as required. On the Iphone Settings/B;luetooth/My Skoda9345 if you click the (i) for Information it should display a button to Launch Carplay automatically make sure this is selected.- Throaty noise on low throttle
It’s a Skoda thing, I do the same in our Fabia, I think it’s because the surface it’s mounted in slopes backwards. I noticed that with the switch set to auto the symbols around the outside light up when the ambient light levels drop, be better if it was in the dash though.- Rear dash cam cable through headlining centre line
Admin - could this thread be pinned in the Karoq Guides - it’s very detailed and useful.- Skoda SIM required for wireless Apple CarPlay?
Just been re-reading this thread and checking my earlier post. I initially setup Carplay connection wirelessly for just Itunes. I was using the Skoda built in Phone functionality. But it only worked when Bluetoothed to my phone using the MY Skoda 9345 connection which meant that my 5g Iphone used the internal Skoda WIFI for internet access. I could see on the Carplay screen and on my phone that it was using wifi. So I switched to using the Phone app on the Iphone via Carplay. Carplay launches and connections automatically, I can see on the Iphone screen and the Carplay screen that 5G is in use by the Iphone., Unfortunately I can't recall out who I did it, I'm guessing that I went through the Menu system.- Buying Skoda Karoq - (noob) questions
@don_kiddik that could be what I’ve been looking for.- Buying Skoda Karoq - (noob) questions
I can't fully answer your question. maybe others can, but can provide my experience to date, based on my Sept 23 Sportline. The multi-function steering wheel l (MFSW) does not have a button for answering calls or directly initiating the phone feature., neither does it have buttons to manage the built in sat nav. However it does have the ability to skip tracks back and forth but not as far as I can see navigate a folder structure. On the right hand spoke of the MFSW are buttons to manage the virtual cockpit display. My preferred setting is to have Tacho dial on the left and speedo dial on the right, for this discussion what is displayed in the middle of these two dials is not applicable, but what is displayed in between is. This centre section can display any of the following ; Navigation, Audio, Assist Systems, Statistics, and using the scroll roller select or alter the various features of each one. My default is Navigation and I have the map permanently displayed. At this point what you see and can control will depend on how you choose to set things up. you can choose between supplied functionality for Navigation and Phone, Apple Carplay for Navigation and/or Phone and Android - I don't have Android so can't say how that operates. I use Skoda Navigation and Apple Car play for phone. Why the mix. Skoda Navigation because when following a route it gives the next junction info, road name, distance time etc between the two dials and the full route is displayed on the touch screen, when not following a route the map is displayed between the two dials. When behind the wheel I find this the best option, if I want to mute or unmute spoken directions I have to do it through the touch screen or ask my passenger. Voice commands I find to be pointless, it doesn't work off preset phrases but requires you to 'say something'. When driving you simply don't have the time to say something and then check the effect. I use the Skoda App to input destinations into the Sat Nav. The App uses Google Maps which is easy. and then you transmit the destination to the car. Far simpler than trying to use the GUI on the Touch Screen. So why Carplay for phone, I setup Carplay for Itunes that works fine for me, and initially I was using the Skoda Phone functionality which jas the (dubious) benefit of having the Voice control. and it interfaces to the display between the dials and is controlled by the MFSW buttons. But it only worked when Bluetoothed to my phone using MY9345 connection which created meant that my 5g Iphone used the internal Skoda WIFIi for internet access and it was useless. So I switched to using the Phone app through Carplay which means to answer a call I have to tap the icon on the Touch Screen, A big plus is that it will 'speak' any Whatsapp or SMS messages I receive. Even in the car I use the Skoda Connect App to input directions into the Sat nav and it works much better using the Iphone's 5g SIM. Hope this is of some help.- New oener
A lot of the control options are sensors linked to the throttle and for brake. For example S/S can be controlled by brake pedal pressure, reducing brake pedal pressure slightly as you come to a stop will keep the engine running, likewise with the engine off reducing pedal pressure with start the engine provided you don’t have Auto Hold on. Turning the steering wheel will restart the engine, leaving a slightly bigger gap to the next vehicle in a queue allows you start creeping forward when the car ahead of the one in front starts moving, it gives time for the engine to restart and the clutches to engage.- New oener
I once, and only once, made the mistake of driving forwards into an on street slightly downhill parking bay at right angle to the street. It was an uphill reverse out into two lanes 30 mph traffic. The view to each side was compromised by the vehicles parked either side. This was when I resorted to creeping using the handbrake to control speed. - Dash Lights - Help Appreciated
